fatigue. Starters arms are much more fatigued than pen arms, especially since pen guys can just "not be available" for a night when they are tired. Starters take the bump every 5th day, fatigue or no.

Where do you work??

I'm at Nordstrom and its been busy then slow then busy...

You won't be familiar with it since it's only down here in the South in a few states. I work at Publix which is a supermarket. If they want to stop by and grab some flowers, cards, or even a couple ingredients to make a meal that's cool. People were shopping like it was a regular day. Mothers were doing it too not the fathers. Go out to a restaurant, go have sex, do something. Just don't do your shopping today lol. It's their day to relax. I was shocked it was so busy today.

You're joking' date=' right? We used Hill, Albers, and Atchison today. The important thing is that we got Padilla, Miller, and Aceves days off. A reliever should be able to pitch one inning on back-to-back days. That is not burning out the bullpen. I could understand your argument if the same pitchers were used in 5 or 6 straight games, but that is not the case. I think V does have a little bit of a different approach to the bullpen than Tito did. It is common sense that on blowout games that you are going to use pitchers like Albers and in close games that you are going to use your set-up guys and closer. If you think that is why Bobby V uses his bullpen similar to the way Francona did, then you are correct because that is usually how 100% of managers use their bullpen.[/quote']

You pitch one reliever for 3 innings instead of 3 pitchers for 3 innings. That's one heatup vs 3heatups. That's the way it used to be. And it still is with some of the smarter organizations that know their arithmetic.

And no, 100% of the managers do not do things this way. Not in 12-1 blowouts.

Yikes, having sex on mother's day just seems like tempting fate:lol:

Starters get 4 days rest between starts. And that's throwing just 100 or so pitches.

Pen guys are expected to pitch 3 days in a row. Miller just did it and got noticed for it.

That's 3 heatups in 3 days.

Let's see if he can do it again.

So tell us, who are the teams doing things differently?

I work at Best Buy, and today it was PACKED. People were in there buying all kinds of s***, mostly mothers buying s*** for their kids, like computers and ipads.. More so than usual even.

Good series guys. Our lack of hitting with runners on base (especially 2nd and 3rd) came back to haunt us once again. See you all in August. :)

I miss being able to get sandwiches at the Publix deli. They are the shizz. Some of the best ever.
