Yeah and he was battling an injury and intense pressure. Most reports are that he has his head straight and has looked good in what playing time he's had so far.

The offense was never a problem. Coming into tonite we were fourth in the AL in runs scored and third in OPS.

 

Yeaaaa except we've seen this lineup fall short when production is needed and we've struggled on the road. I would always expect this offense to smash bad pitching but on the road I wasn't sure if they'd show up. Hopefully our starters can manage a ~3.50 ERA for this balling' O! Can't wait for Ells and CC to comeback... Sad to watch Sweeney hit the bench when they do.

Crawford is going to be fine this year. He is too good an athlete not to improve over last year's dismal performance.

Hey I like Crawford as much as the next guy but I was starting to believe that he was a bad fit in Boston. Even if that were true I would have to say that this is a much different team this year.

The issue is not having offense

 

The issue is

a) having enough offense to stay ahead of the pitching staff

having enough offense to stay ahead of the other great offenses in this year's version of the AL. What you think these Twin pitchers would be mowing down the Rangers, the Tigers or the Yanks?

It's early. I believe the pitching will get worked out and we will be able to better compete with those teams. Hey we were in 2 games with the tigers, and would have beat the Yankees in that game under those conditions 99/100.

By no means am I advocating Iggy right now, the way Aviles is hitting. I was just pointing out the type of hit that Iglesias has apparently got a knack for.

Seriously, there are definitely some positives about this team so far: the offense, Doubront has been a nice surprise, and....I'll get back to you.
