SBF leaves for a month, Sox win 3 in a row. Coincidence?

Excellent win for the Sox. I think the most exciting thing so far this year is how well Ortiz is hitting so far. Usually takes the big guy a month or two to get going, but he's killing the ball right now.

I don't know if Aceves figured out for himself that he had to start pitching again instead of just trying to pour the ball past hitters cause it was the 9th. Either he figured it out for himself or the coaches told him that was what he was doing wrong but the difference has been night and day. Helps that Morales is pitching well in front of him and Atchison and Padilla are pitching well in front of Morales.

If Melancon would just come around then Morales can become the lefty specialist out of the pen.

Morales is so much better than a LOOGY.

Hill will be LOOGY in 3-4 weeks.

Aceves reportorial: Fastball, Cutter, Change, Slider, Curve. f***ing crazy.

Today our BP saved our ass, Padilla is surprising everyone. I expect pretty good good things about Doubront, nice repertory, if he stays healthy he'll be very solid. Again, Ortiz is a beast and Ross is starting to feel like in home, this ballpark could fit his bat pretty well. I want that Adrian give us more; he will. We faced an elite pitching staff the last three days and our offense was spectacular, regardless we have key pieces between cottons. Great weekend, Let's sweep these guys, Go Sox.

Funny that one of the few negatives today was a V negative. If we had lost this game we could very well have chalked this one up to V not having Repko taking on that 3-1 count with the bases loaded.

I have no idea why he left it in Repko's hands when he could have just given him the take sign. As it was he swung at ball 4, which would have put him on first, driven in the run and left the Sox with only 1 out in that inning. Every possible factor that you could think of pointed to having Repko take there so it is not like it was a 50-50 sort of thing. At least I don't think so.

Worked out that we win this game but I would love to know why V did not have Repko take in that spot just to know how V arrived at that decision in that spot.

As I said at the time, if V was not going to give him the take sign there, when is he ever going to give a guy the take sign and under what circumstances?

We are fond of counting the loses per season purported to be chalked up to Tito. If we lost this one that way, V would have gotten the credit for this one.

SFF At The Game Mojo II worked again!!

So I was in the RF Roof Box, and on the 3-1 pitch to Repko with the bases juiced, it looked like he swung at a ball that was a bit high, but I couldn't tell.

Oh well, great win. Fantastic work from the bullpen, although it looked like Atchison was helped a lot by Gimenez trying to bunt at 3 pitches that weren't in the K zone.

The ball that Pena hit that was reviewed and confirmed as a foul ball was right next to my seats. It was foul by 2-3 feet.

I don't know if you could see the reply on the jumbo screen from where you were sitting but on replay, the ball was not high enough to make case that you could not tell one way or the other. That ball went past the pole not over the pole and it went past it on the foul side.

The NESN announcers said that Pena was absolutely sure (I guess from body language) that it was a home run but it clearly was not.
