Freddy longball Garcia has been getting shelled, but everything is at a fielder. We just need two more innings, then we can piece it together, but f*** I am worried. Everything is hitting the meat of the bat

yeah' date=' we're gonna have to get lester, beckett and everyone in your farm system. Plus, your first rounder from here to eternity.[/quote']

Playing hardball... I respect that, I counter with dice-k / punto and a 17th rd pick in 2018

Post-Mo I am not sure. Mo sounds like he'll be back next yr and I am sure Soriano wont be opting out, so for next yr, we'll have options should Mo not come back vintage. I am not sure Robertson is cut out for the job. I think Joba could definitely do the job, but I'd want to see how he comes back from TJS. We have some hard throwing kids in the minors who might be closers in the making, but who knows until they make it through the system.

Martin choked the f***ing game away already. Up 3-0 with the Yankees having Shields on the ropes, he gets a throw that short hops him, but he handles, then drops as he applies the tap on the runner at the plate. That opened the floodgates and led to a 3-3 tie. We have scored another run since then, but that error took us from having a pretty cushy lead to having to bite the nails. And in the Trop, nailbiters almost always end in Ray wins

It's unbelievable how this team fails every single time to beat the Rays at home, this is the 9th straight loss at Tropicana field.

Great win today. They really won this one as a team. Especially after starting off hit less against Price. This team is starting to look scary good... and that's without CC and Pettitte. They're gonna be dangerous in October.

The New York Yankees announced they have acquired Darnell McDonald off waivers from the Boston Red Sox.

The 33-year-old, who plays all three outfield positions, will join the team on Friday in time to face his former teammates at Fenway Park.

McDonald batted .214 with 2 home runs and 9 RBIs in 38 games for the Red Sox. The Yankees will announce a roster move on Friday to accomodate McDonald on the major league roster.

In order to make room on the 40-man roster, the Yankees designated righty Chris Schwinden, claimed off waivers earlier in the week, for assignment.

To win a game started by Phelps and Price is pretty good. Phelps gave us a good outing for not being stretched out. We'll see if he keeps getting shots after the ASB. He definitely gives us a better shot than Garcia.

So the Yankees havent confirmed it, but my guess is as follows..

7/6- Kuroda vs Beckett

7/7- Hughes vs Morales

7/7- Garcia vs Doubront

7/8- Nova vs Lester

I think we have a pretty good shot at winning the series, and if the sox lose 3 or 4, then they are pretty much done with the division. Time to step on the throats Yankees!

9 games up on the sox in the L column, 6 games up on the O's. And we should beat the everliving f*** out of the pitchers we are facing tomorrow. The problem is, the sox should beat the ever living f*** out of Garcia. I'd take a split tomorrow

First Half Recap

52-33 (.612) 7 games up on Baltimore for the AL East lead, the biggest lead in baseball and the best record in baseball.

Offensive:

6th in baseball in Runs scored, #1 in OPS

Pitching:

9th in baseball in ERA, #4 in K's, #11 in starters ERA, #10 in relief

Biggest disappointments: Tied between Michael Pineda and Mariano Rivera. Two guys expected to be humongous contributors to this team, lost for the season at a very early stage

Biggest surprises: Phil Hughes and Hiroki Kuroda. Seeing both of those guys turn into legitimate starters on this team lessened the blow of losing CC and Pettitte during this stretch. At the same time, they stabilized one of the better rotations in the AL and locked down the rotation from May 1 onward.

Outlook: With CC returning after the ASB and Gardner returning soon after, we should see a boost in the pitching and defense department. Hughes will have to avoid a second half swoon like he has in 2010, but his stuff has looked solid and he's actually been getting better over his last month on the mound minus his hiccup 2 nights ago (and the 5 f***ing errors!). We also get Joba back in a couple weeks to help offset the total implosion of Cory Wade. Effectively, this team looks like men amongst boys in what is turning out to be a decidedly mediocre AL East. Nobody sucks, but aside from the Yankees, nobody is very good.

Prediction: They will win the AL East barring a Red Sox 2011 type collapse

The doc who did the surgery on Rivera said that he could return in 2012. It isnt likely, but the fact that it's his right leg actually makes it more of a possibility since it isnt doing the landing

Maybe jeter needs some LASIK? .....in all seriousness, this was meant to be a joke, but he missed 2 plays that honestly any little leaguer should of made Sunday ( somehow he only received 1 error, but oh well)

Hey, the scorer was at Fenway, so that's on you guys, lol. Jeter was dealing with dehydration and shoulder spasms, which was revealed after the game. He refused to leave the game, which I find admirable, although probably a bit dumb. If he's still symptomatic, he should bow out of tonights contest, but I am sure he wont
