How about the fact Trout is the first major league player to hit 30 home runs, score 125 runs and steal 45 bases in a season and to hit .320 or above with 30 home runs and 45 stolen bases. Also only Joe DiMaggio (132 in 1936) and Ted Williams (131 in 1939) scored more runs as rookies.
It will not be close.

BTW: Neither Williams or DiMaggio won the MVP in their rookie years.

It shouldn't be a tight race at all. The writers would have to be on crack if this is a close vote. The only possible reason for not voting for Miggy would be in protest of his DWI. He did something that hasn't been done in almost half a century in winning the triple crown. The only guys in history to do it are enshrined in Cooperstown.

That still doesn't make him the MVP. Trout almost went 30-50, and is best defensive CF in the game. Miguel Cabrera is a gifted offensive player, but he is beyond awful at 3B, and provides no value on the bases.

Cabrera will probably win, but there are other valid candidates.

He may lose votes as a backlash for his DWI, but without that, it shouldn't be close. The Triple Crown hasn't been done in 45 years and his team is going to the playoffs. Ted Williams didn't win the MVP when he won the TC, and it was scandalous-- a Red Sox writer left him off the ballot completely. That was retribution for not cooperating with the press. Unless there is a backlash for the DWI, none of the other candidates should come close.

I have a question to ask, hopefully you guys can clear this up.

Are the Miami Marlins still considered the Florida Marlins or a brand new team that's not a continuation from the Florida Marlins? Not sure if I worded it right but hopefully someone understands.

As far as I know, the Miami Marlins are still the Florida Marlins, in the sense that they keep all the Florida Marlins history and such and aren't considered like a new expansion team.
