One of my favorite announcers is retiring today after the Twins game, John Gordon. Probably one of the best voices in baseball.

Who are your guy's favorite announcers?

Posted

Current Cardinals and former White Sox broadcaster John Rooney.

Mccarver?

AKA Baseball's Madden. Was a great broadcaster years ago, but now going on reputation.

I like Michael Kay.

For the most part he's neutral when doing a broadcast. He doesn't act like he just got punched in the gut when oponents score on the Yanks.

I'll go with Joe Buck.

I hate a lot of announcers, especially color guys, but Eckersley takes the cake. Un-f***ing-bearable. I almost couldn't watch those games he did whatever year it was Remy had health problems.

David Cone, guy is magic. Makes adult humor jokes during the game too. Appreciates a pretty lady in the stands too haha.

He flirts with Michael ALOT. Faggotry.

Paul O'neil too. "I sent you a text at 2AM and you didn't respond back?" LOL, gay.

Vin Scully, doing Dodger games for 62 seasons. That's incredible. He is a one man show, doing play by play and color analysis every game. If you haven't heard him do a game, you need to hear him. He's the best .

Remy is the Best Color Analyst bar none.

Well, I used to hang out with Johnny Most at Celtic home games in the early seventies. He was so much fun! During commercial breaks he would just turn around and chat with me. He even let me smoke his English Ovals cigarettes!

As for baseball, I am a homer! I like Don and Jerry. They just make the game so much more complete with their humor and self deprecation. I find them very entertaining and baseball is entertainment for me.

I'm a homer too, Joe Castiglione, grew up listening to him. When I hear his voice I am always magicially taken back to being 13 again. "Can you believe it!"

Fun fact:

Al Michaels was traded from ABC to NBC for a cartoon character.

Back before he created Mickey Mouse, Walt Disney was working under contract for Universal. One of the characters he created was Oswald The Lucky Rabbit. Even though Walt created Oswald, as part of the distribution deal he was owned by Universal.

Fast forward to 2006. NBC, which had been recently acquired by Universal, won the contract for the NFL's Sunday night games. They wanted to bring in Al Michaels, who was under contract to Disney-owned ABC at the time, to be the play-by-play man. In exchange for letting Al out of his contract, Disney was awarded the rights to several characters including Oswald.

He was good when it was him and Al Michaels on ABC.

Al Michaels seems like an assh*le, but he's a good play-by-play man. His call on Hendo's HR was superb.

I gotta go with Vin Scully though.
