Long story. Basically started when A700 and SCM called Salty adequate. People then started defending him and I guess they thought he was the one of the leagues best. Read the Salty thread for a better view.

Not naming names, but there was a good number of people who kept saying he was top 5. It was pretty funny, because they said it based off of a few hot months where he was hitting for .900 OPS, of course he sucked every at bat outside of that 3 months pretty much, and a few of us (me, SCM, a700) weren't really buying into it, and we got attacked for it.

Scutaro has been on fire this month so honestly I can't blame him for that. Yeah a hit woulda been nice, but Salty is just doing terrible that I would probably pinch hit there. Reddick anyone maybe for that spark after Drew gets a nice hit.

Even when Salty had that run at the plate he was still the worst defensive catcher in the league from what I was seeing. Heck I thought he was the worst defensive catcher I have ever seen....never mind worst now. He can't catch it and he can't throw it and at the start of the season he could not even handle pitchers competently. What else is there but catch it, throw it and handle pitchers.

 

I actually think that as the overall team performance got worse and worse it's worst players felt compelled to sink even lower into the abyss.

 

Remy is talking about the injury effecting Salty's throwing. Ya' mean it could be worse?

once again, we're going to lose a game to a team that had fewer hits, that's 10 times now this month I believe....this team has perfected two things in this awful stretch, giving up unbelievably horrid runs with errors, walks, wp's and passed balls....and getting men on to strand them because of dp's, popups, strikeouts, baserunning mistakes etc
