Did anyone notice the gesture in their (Ortiz, Gonzalez, Pedroia, youkilis, etc.) faces after the HR? This rotation literally killed the best offense in all BB in September just like that, they didn't need more time.

Well, at least he doesn't apply the 7 Rs rule as a "tactic/strategy"

Smart or not, he gets the best out of his players at all time. Tito, not so much.

Well' date=' at least he doesn't apply the 7 Rs rule as a "tactic"[/quote']That's true, but he has made out a lineup card with 2 third basemen costing his team the DH. If Tito had done that, it would have been a major incident covered by the press.

The other night he got caught stealing in the 8th inning when the Rays were down 5-1. He was clearly out, but to add insult to stupidity, he got himself thrown out of the game.

Maddon has never gotten him under control. They are doing better than the Sox because they have Price, Hellickon and Shields, plus they have depth with Davis, Nieman and Cobb. A few of those guys actually have pitched complete games this year. Also, their GM built them a bull pen. It has nothing to do with Maddon. He's a moron.

I just want to get rid of that pathetic rule.

Hell, how many more games would we be at the W-column at this point if he had not used it, 2, at least?

BTW

TB 3 TOR 2

Panic in all its splendor.

Plus we don't have arms for depth like Matt Moore and Torres. Let's not forget that they let Garza-- a pretty good pitcher- walk.

The Sox don't have enough players like Torres or Moore and some of the other players that TB can just randomly pull out of nowhere. Maddon deserves credit for pulling his pitcher so quickly when he looked like s***.

As I said. Their GM is doing interesting things out there. I wonder if JH has TB's GM in the radar.

Tito is gone. So is the rest of the coaching staff.

Having the team make the lineup is almost as funny as Jimy Williams using a dartboard.

That's right. We should be targeting Tampa's GM not their idiot, dementia medicine spokesperson, Drew Carey look-a-like manager. Their GM apparently knows a lot about pitching, because they have much more of it than we do-- and it's cheap too.

Watching Lester tonight was pretty concerning. The last three starts, actually, have been really atypical for him. He looks extremely tired and simply not himself. It's the first time I remember seeing him like that for such a long time. Usually his stuff is good enough to work his way through tough nights but recently he's been really slapped around. I hope he's feeling okay. If they don't have Lester over the next few years as a pseudo-Ace, then this team will be set back considerably.

So, do we hope that he is simply a choker in must win games or that he is injured or sick? Not a great choice, but I'll opt for him being a choker.

I suppose I will opt for worn out rather than either of those options. What do you see? I just looks exhausted to me, not like "tired arm" but more "tired guy". He doesn't have the same intensity in his eyes.

Of course, after getting shelled early in games for all 3 weeks (I think) I have probably seen more shocked Jon than anything else.

I sure as hell hope it isn't an injury.

Who the heck knows. I'd hope that it is fatigue, but he is a big young guy and he's not even going to crack 200 innings this season. It doesn't seem like he should be worn out. I might be projecting, but he had the look of a choker on the mound today. He looked tentative. He lost his release point and command very badly. Who knows.

The Angels just won and picked up a game. If we drop the double dip tomorrow and both Tampa and the Angels win, we will go into the last series in a tie with Tampa and the Angels 1 game behind. The Yanks will dump the 3 games to Tampa, so the Sox will have to sweep the O's to force a 1 game playoff. The Sox are more hapless right now than any team that I have ever watched. We are depending on Wakefield and Lackey tomorrow. Wow!!! Who is pitching game 1?

That's what it has looked like for the past few games. For a guy who usually makes it look so easy that's concering. That can't possibly last too long if he's healthy. He's too good to s*** the bed like that.

I felt certain when he stayed away from the first inning woes that he would be money today, and then he got that look and the wheels came off. If we can't take a Lester start to the bank, we're cooked. He's gone down 3 times in a row. Very distressing.

Ugh. They need to win one tomorrow. It will be really interesting to see how the Yanks/Rays series goes. The Yankees could literally throw the games and few would blame them. That's a really unfortunate situation for the Sox.

NEW YORK — At least Adrian Gonzalez is confident.

"I think when we get into the playoffs, whoever we play better watch out because we're going go inbeing the underdog, especially the way we've been playing this month,” he said after today's loss.

"The odds are in our favor. We're not playing good baseball, but at the same time, we can come out tomorrow and win two games and pretty much be a lock to be in the playoffs. All these things can turn in a matter of 12 or 13 hours, whatever the case is.”

I am glad we got AGon, but he needs to shut up right now and get some big hits.

I do like his confidence though. Even if they don't make it, I like that he's pushing the team forward.

This collapse thing is contagious. I've been saying that our thing is not physical (for those who still "healthy") but mental. Beckett and mostly Lester in the last starts is charging the pressure as well. His mind just like every player of this team is devastated. Lackey/Wake/Miller/Weiland/Tito made this possible, and seems that there's no way back.
