I don't have to name anyone. I'm not going to argue this. The pessimist know who they are. I didn't say they rip into everything' date=' every time[/b'] so I don't know where you got that from.

Sure they do. As you said, they know who they are, whether they want to admit it or not.

If you think its all roses' date=' feel free to post that way.[/quote']

But then we'll be called front office ballwashers by the cranky f***s who spend the day on here bitching about how the Red Sox might not win again before said cranky f***s keel over and die in about five years.

So what's the point?

Dr Morgan lost his license to practice in 2010. Don't know why people would pine for him...

That's a silly question MVP. We pine for Dr. Morgan because who they got to take his place. Dr. Gill proved in three years what a rotten incompetent and wrong headed crud he was. His constant misdiagnoses on our players and his refusal to order MRI's turned our team into a MASH unit. The guy never should have been hired in the first place, but when it became evident that he belonged in a butcher's shop instead it was criminal that Prune Face didn't give him walking papers long before he did.

The optimists know who they are. I didn't say they rip into nothing, never.....

See how it works?

Some of us think we are in crappy shape right now. Our posts reflect that.

If you think its all roses, feel free to post that way.

We will see who is right at the end of the season anyway.

No one has said it's all roses. We will who see who is right at the end of the season. But I feel the more pessimistic posters hope for failure to prove their points. I hope I am wrong about that, it wouldn't be the first or last time.

Well who are they VA? Who rips into everything, every time?

Got a feeling I will be waiting a long time for that answer

I didn't pose a question.

If you don't like Gill, I don't care. Just understand that they guy you laud CAN'T EVEN PRACTICE MEDECINE ANYMORE!

If Morgan was he, pretty sure you'd find a reason to give him a dumb nickname and complain about him.

Obviously.

You should settle down and discuss issues rather than getting hung up trying to skewer other posters.

Would you like me to prove you wrong?

I can dig up some of my posts about Valentine and my support for him, or about my contention that the franchise is on the right track if you like. Or the fact that I am witholding judgement on Cherington, not ripping into him at all.

Would you then admit that you are wrong?

I think that a good deal of the argument/discussion call it what you want about the state of the team relative to potential results stems from the fact that there is now a very fine line between going home at the end of the regular season and going on. It takes a very good team to win 90 games. Ya' know where you are goin' if you win 90 these days....you are goin' home. The extra WC team may now cover a 90 win team but the point is that the difference between going home and going on seems paper thin to me.

98+ you are likely to win the division. 95 wins and you very likely going on. 90 wins likely going home. That is pretty thin on a 162 game season.

I will always be the first to admit that I am wrong. Always.

So you are cool with Cheringpuke/Ben the Boob so far?

Well at least VA named names, something you said she wouldn't do---so give the lady some credit on that score. As for Ellsbury I have seen that he can get real salty and really climb on some of the posters he disagrees with but what I haven't seen is any insight on what should be done to remedy our currently sad and sorry state. Ok, maybe he thinks everything is copasetic, yea sure!!!!!!

Mea Culpa. I said the Rangers would not sign Darvish and they did. I was wrong and wear a dunce cap for the day, but let's see if we go out and sign Oswalt now. I say we won't, and I really hope I have to wear the dc again, but someting tells me that next tie my mea culpa will be replaced by "I told you so." I really hope not.

From page 322 (about Valentine):

I lauded his hiring because I think he is the best person to accomplish a specific task: straightening out the clubhouse. I do not think we have the talent to make a serious run at a ring, but we have enough talent to challenge the Rays and Yankees for a playoff spot. It will take about two years to change the chemistry and obtain enough talent to go for it all.

Here I blasted getting Bailey:

The fact is that Bailey's career numbers to date are slightly better than Papelbon's.

Bailey: 2.07/.954

Papelbon: 2.33/1.018

Paps has been around for 7 years; Bailey just three.

The issue is...

VA sometimes has a warped self-serving view of reality.

No. Nice try. Good luck to BV. And good luck to you to find ANYTHING to be positive about the Red Sox in January or in 2012. We'll see. Sleep well.

Gill was a ******** of the first order and an incompetent SOB who was the main cause of most of our troubles with injuries the past two seasons. The crime was that Prune Face kept him on after 2010 when it became crystal clear that this guy was a turd and a butcher. Finally he's gone after he's been responsible for some serious damage to our teams health. He missed diagnosed an arm injury to Youk in 2009' date=' did the same with disastrous results with Ellsbury in 2010, and first misdiagnosed Pedroia after he was injured in SF and then gave him the green light to play when he was far from ready. This past season he butchered Buchholz' injury by saying it was minor and refusing to give him an MRI. He and his crud staff as well as our rotten conditioning staff are gone and thank God for that. Too bad it took all that damage to our players through their incompetence before the dickhead Gill and his assorted band of bums were sent packing.[/quote']

SeeBitchyFred, can we agree to call all people, posters, players, FO folks, entertainers, busboys, etc, all of them (except Beiber, have at it) by their actual names?

Your posts are a caricature at this point. You're like a bad Sunday comic strip.

Here you go VA. From page 366 of this thread:

For the record, I think the team is now headed in the right direction. They have fired an incompetent manager who lost control of the clubhouse and replaced him with a disciplinarian who will fix that problem. They got rid of the GM who put them in the hole they are now in, and they have so far held on to the resources that will probably make them a very real contender next year.

Does that sound pessimistic to everyone here-or does it sound like a difference of opinion about long term strategy for success of the team?

Ready to admit you are wrong yet?

Oh!! I am SO offended!!! Warped? LOL. Good try doc.:lol::lol:

Sometimes with you its either black or white with other posters. There are the bad guys and there are the good guys here.

It actually a spectrum, not all or nothing.

Several people here have indicated that they think the nicknames are funny.

It's interesting how vicious the optimists can be in trying to silence the opinions of others. Such positive people!

If we realists are not careful, they are liable to smite us.

By the way, wasn't today the deadline for Ortiz's arbitration? No deal? He is actually going to arbitration?

He must be thrilled at the amount of "respect" he is getting from the Sox.

I find it amusing that you and a couple of others get all hot and bothered when I use nicknames as if that is some personal insult to any poster on this board. As long as I don't insult a fellow poster I see nothing wrong with giving a nickname to someone who I think is not doing his or her job. As for the post you answered, perhaps you should desist from emphasising the nicknames but read the content. What was in that was inaccurate? Nothing!!!!!!!

If you find my posts annyoing skip them, or read them more carefully. What I say makes a lot of sense to me and to others who know the game well and can see for themselves how the front office is taking the team this for a one way ride. Everything is NOT copasetic with our team right now. Or do you disagree with that as well?
