Awesome board. The board where I just came from after 7 years was very small and moderated in a pollyanna way. The above poll would have been split 50/50 with half of the posters licking Wakefield's cleats because he is a Sox "icon". Good to see there is a general realistic viewpoint on this board.

Wake has been done since 2007, all he does now is pitch batting practice.

It is.

At some point we should consider moving over here permanently IMO, and bring the rest of the gang over too. Elk, IPOT, Orwell, and Muggah are here so far. My guess is that Fred will come over too as soon as he gets back from the beach. As for the rest of those guys, its only a matter of time.

That wouldn't be SeabeachFred would it?

Muggah's a tad brash.

It is Seabeachfred. Do you know him?

As for Muggah, he is a man who speaks his mind. He is a good guy though. I have met him in person. We took in a Sox-Yankees game at the end of September at Remy's place in Boston when I was there visiting.

Fred is already a member here. Got a lot crap for being a "recent" Red Sox fan but also a Dodgers fan?

I met him in Spring Training a few years back, briefly.

Fred and I took in a Sox-Giants game last year. I live up here in No Cal, and came up for the whole series. Trust me: he is not a Dodgers fan, though I think he was at one time.

I expect Fred to be here more frequently along with others from the board we were posting on.

Yeah, that was the problem. The majority of us our life long Red Sox fans.

Thats harsh dude. Converts are not accepted?

I have been a Sox fan since the late 1950s, so I guess I am in the club. I would further guess that I have been a Sox fan since many of you guys were zygotes. Fred is one of the more fervent fans (and knowledgeable fans) you will meet. I think he should be admitted into the club without reservation.

Fred is a Rangers and Cardinals fan now I think.

Wrong, he is a Dodgers and Giants fan. Also saw him rooting in a NY forum for both the Yankees and Mets at the same time during an interleague game.

I was joking about his ever-changing rooting interests.

As was I my friend :)

Dodgers and Giants are bitter rivals......and how could you root for both the Mets and Yanks in the same gamethread? Think about it!

:harhar:

I'm a dudette and read the posts by Coco and SCM after mine. That is Fred's repuation around here.

WHATTTTTTTTTTTTTT SEABEACH IS BACK??????????

WHATTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

seabeach.....what team do you root for now????

Wait a minute, could it be.............could it be that six4three and seabeach are the same person????

WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chin Music----Decided to check back in and see what gives on this particular board. I think I was suspended a couple of years back. Things got out of hand and some of it was my fault. Yes, I am a rabid Red Sox fan as you could check for yourself on three other boards.

Actually, I'm trying to find out if what I see on the other three boards I post on (Sawxheads is my main one) is pretty much what goes on here. As far as the team is concerned I still haven't a real clue as which Red Sox team is the legitimate one--the fraud of the first 12 games or what we've seen lately.

Anyway I'm back and hopefully this time around it will be tranquil and informative.

Lol fair weather.

Seems that if Fred is going to be posting here (he is away at the beach this week) he is going to have to have a thick outer skin about that kind of ribbing. He is strictly a Sox fan now, despite his heterogeneous past.

I changed my mind. I said keep him in the 'pen, but his comment about fans deserving to see him get his 200th win was just a MAJOR disappointment, coming from who I thought was a total team guy, and someone who understood the fans. Sorry Tim, but your 200th means sh*t when the team is collapsing all around you.

See ya Tim, and take Tek, Beckett, Papi, and Youk with you.

Please Red Sox, do not bring this guy back. Wakefield was really on the rocks since the second half of the 2009 season. My God, how can the Red Sox move ahead if we keep holding on to the likes of those two relics (Wakefield and Varitek)? It's almost they are treated like sacred cows. Enough of that; we have a lot of work ahead of us to rebuild our team into a solid contender and we have to put the past in the past. Thanks for the memories Tim and Jason but it is time to saddle up and leave town.

You would think Tek and Wake would not be back. I think the string has played out for Wake.

But I read that the pitching staffs' ERA was about 3.5 with Tek and 4.5 with Salty this year.

Tek didn't have that many starts, but that's pretty alarming. Salty might be better this year, but

it shows they need an improved Salty or maybe another catcher next year calling games.

So not only did you disappear for a few weeks immediately after reaching 6666 posts' date=' you return on Halloween?[/quote']

Hahaha. I didn't even notice that. That's awesome!

I needed a little breather from all things Red Sox. It was my power up time for the offseason, which I like just as much as the season itself.

Great guy... But he's been around a long time.. He can't fool the hitters anymore.

Time for him to start hanging with Mike at a Hunting and Fishing Lodge.
