Lackey's 6 ER is a done deal' date=' he gonna finish around that number... The question now is, what to do with him?, can he comeback? I doubt it. <_ prediction is that he circling the drain. next spring we will hear his family health issues are behind him and in best condition years may actually dominate for first few games but then bell ring regular season it be more of same. have to put up with this stuff another season.>

I have to agree with Doji on Mike Napoli. The guy crushes the ball. He is an extreme threat at the plate. He would have looked real good in our lineup.

Not sure I remember many longer HRs at Fenway.

Red Sox will get bounced like a pinball from the Playoffs if they get the wild card and have to play this team.

Rangers got the Red Sox number. And with that series being a best of 5 it will not be pretty.

The Sox don't have a prayer in the playoffs unless Buchholz comes back' date=' or Bedard turns into Cliff Lee.[/quote']

I disagree with that. When you can throw two horses out there in Beckett and Lester, anything is possible. In a short series, the sox could theoretically go to a 3 man if they get the choice of the long series (which I think Philly has all wrapped up btw). In a 7 gamer, they could throw Beckett 3 times and Lester twice. Their problem comes in with the #3. Either you have an effective but inefficient Bedard, or an innings thrower with poor results in Lackey.

BTW, Buchholz will not be a starter on his return this yr, he'll be a pen arm. He isnt even throwing off a mound yet. He hasnt thrown a pitch in anger in 2+ months now and will need to be built up before he could start. The sox have admitted as much

28 ERs the las 3 games and 2-4 the last 6 games at home against contender teams? Unacceptable!

IMO, For once and for all we need to give a spot to Aceves.... There is not another option at this point, we can't risk every 4th and 5th day anymore, this is September baseball, we have to do all in our hands to finish leading the AL-E, and hope that Wheeler, Albers, Morales, Bard and Pap make the job in the BP, no more material gentlemen, that's it!

Our rotation should be Beckett-Lester-Bedard-Aceves-Wake 3IP/Lackey 3IP/Miller 2IP or something like that, but Tito needs to be creative given the circumstances.

The 4th and 5th spots are pretty close to being forfeits.

Agree.

I don't see how his numbers could improve at this point of his career.
