Haven't heard of any NYCers being embarassed by Cervelli...

In all fairness, would you be enbarrass if a Red Sox would have done that? You'd support it. Even though it was wrong.

Example? And don't you dare say what went down with Zimmer.

I don't have a real issue with it, but Pedro didn't exactly shy away from the occasional hit batter. I assume this is what Jacko is referring to.

Neither did Clemens, though.

Paps embarasses me all the time.

Quite true' date=' but a comparison isn't a rebuttal in this case.[/quote']

I was just pointing it out, both sides had their headhunters. And I agree that I don't have an issue with guys going in a lot, it's a viable pitching tactic. No one wants to concentrate on hitting when they're worrying about a heater caving in their skull.

And you guys werent embarrassed for Pedro when he was being a punk.

If Pedro was a punk, call Bob Gibson Sid Vicious.

Pitching inside is fine. Batters who get pissed and whine about it are pussies (includes Manny in the Karim Garcia game).

No doubt about it ... I just think Jacko's point is that it's sort of hypocritical to be mad at a player on the opposing team for 'disrespecting the game', but to not feel the same way about a player on your own team. And mvp brought up Paps ... how do you feel about that? It's probably a better comparison.

I just think it's part of the rivalry, the hypocrisy adds to it. Think of all the times that a pitcher on one of our teams drilled someone and then we're out for blood the very second that the favor is returned. And Papelbon is a bit of a loudmouth dick but he's our loudmouth dick. I get why he's hated but he still laces 'em up for the Sox every day.

Nope. Not at all and you wouldn't have been either if he pitched for your team. One of my favorite moments was when he threw Zimmer to the ground, still love that!

Michael Kay and his minions had a little nice unbiased discussion about the Cervelli clap.

Says its all relative. Yankees dont like it when Papi flips the bat and the Sox didn't like what Cervelli did.

Basically it works both ways.

So then you're basically saying you don't have an objective opinion on the matter?

I love how people act as if he did anything wrong, what was he gonna do in that situation?

Pretty much, I guess. Hard to be objective when it's Sox/Yankees

Haha I guess it is if you hate (or even dislike) one of the teams. I wouldn't really know about that though.

I don't see how that makes a difference at all. If you get hit, just walk to first. Stop acting like someone kicked your dog.
