Have to disagree with you there. You could argue one of those runs wasn't his fault and both homers weren't exactly bombs. It won't show up in the boxscore or in the minds of irrational Lackey haters' date=' [b']but he was solid tonight[/b].

That's more like it. I have a hard time saying that someone who gave up 5 ER pitched "very well". But 8 baserunners in 6.2 innings is solid.

What game were you watching? They were firing rockets off him in several innings other than the big one. 50% of the hits off him were for XBH.

He didn't walk anyone, so kudos there, and he got more swing and misses than he normally does, but the positives end there.

Would you prefer the 2 inning 8 run shitstorms we were seeing a couple weeks ago? Bottom line is he's been pretty good since the break. Tonight wasn't spectacular but it could've been worse. 6 2/3 and he didn't collapse. Maybe "very well" is an overstatement but saying he was awful or anything like that is a bit harsh. I am still impressed with how he's looked as of late.

2. Anyone who claims they knew Salty would have this kind of production is a liar. BTW, who the f*** are you to call someone an idiot?

That's not what was said. It isn't about predicting it from the beginning that's idiotc, it's talking like nothing has changed that earns you Retard Points.

Okay, back from my momentary absence. A few things I must say:

1. I hope most of the folks here, like those at the park tonight, are smart enough to see through the ******** and realize Lackey pitched very well tonight

2. Anyone who denies Salty is a good catcher and thinks he stinks and/or is replaceable is an idiot, plain and simple.

3. Doug Flutie mojo.

really?

Plus, you could make an argument for 4 ER too. I'm just trying to cut him some slack because you know people are only gonna see the 5 ER and automatically call this start a bust. Bottom line is coming into tonight, he was 4-0 with an ERA hovering around 2 and a half.

You mean other than going pretty deep into the game' date=' right?[/quote']

Meh, he still gave up 5.

Cut it out. I'm the only one allowed to argue in the game thread.

Well, from the sound of things, the "very well" is relative to early year Lackey, and if that's the case, I can't argue. That said, I don't think that's a very realistic relative baseline for assigning superlatives.

"Very well", I now admit, was an overstatement. Still, that said, I am happy with what he gave us tonight. I hope he can continue his recent success. The guy's a good pitcher, whether some of us like to admit it or not. :D

Also, anyone else think Sutcliffe and Boone just need to shut up? Between the worshipping of Tomlin because of a pickle game and Sutcliffe being Sutcliffe, this is a horrible broadcast team.

Don't get into a jam Bard!

He's Daniel Bard, he'll load the bases and then K the next three hitters looking............on 9 fastballs in a row.
