And let me guess, you're the one who sees things clearly by thinking his 1.88 WHIP is somehow a sign of improvement. The guy's 26, he's not a prospect anymore.

Yes, that's why he's a redemption contract rather than costing us a bundle the way Bedard did. He's a guy we picked up on a low risk investment and he's about to pick up his 5th win. He's by no means a finished product but if he were, with his stuff, there's no way he'd be anyone's 5th starter. Especting him to play up to his stuff is ludicrously foolish. He is still improved however, and I suspect he'll continue to do so.

By no means do/did I want to see him make starts for us in the playoffs though. I'd rather Miller was developing in Pawtucket TBH. Maybe with Bedard on the roster we can get back to that.

No one cares if he lives up to his stuff or not. They just want a guy who doesn't allow a dozen baserunners every time he takes the mound.

It's 1 year in a new environment.

It's also yet another example of overpaying for Speed.

I don't like Crawford. I wish we hadn't signed him and I didn't want him in that offseason.

Looks like Moneyball didn't adequately expose Crawford for the fraud that he is.

He's a fraud because he's struggled a few months?

He's not gonna continue to be this bad though, that I'm sure of.

I'm not. All offense is predicated on plate discipline and Crawford's is not very good. Under the circumstances a collapse is hardly unfathomable.

Yes, offense has nothing to do with the actual ability of hitting a ball.

And what is plate discipline?

(hint: Check the bolded)

Papelbon takes so damn long to throw the ball. It gets boring. There is a rule that you can only take 12 seconds between pitches. See how many times that is enforced?

Can anyone update me on how we scored two runs in the ninth? Fox says Gozo had an RBI double, but that was it. Final score of 6-3 shows 2 runs in the 9th.

EDIT: OK, Fox had it messed up. Final score was 5-3, not 6-3. GameDay on Foxsports.com is sometimes useless.

Congratulations Andrew Miller on (barring a catastrophic injury) your last start as a member of the Red Sox!

That was only if we picked up someone.

How more time are we gonna keep excusing him?. How more?

He has to produce since day 0, he is making 142 MUSD for God's sake!

Considering he's a 4 time All-Star who's been great the last 8 years, at least two years. Remember when Drew had a poor regular season in his first year then he hit an ALCS winning grand slam and had a .927 OPS in 2008?

Crawford's a great player in the prime of his career. If he doesn't get out of his funk this year, he will next year.

I would like that my employers have the same patience on me, considering that I have met my sales quote last 10 years.

Seriously, nobody doubts about his talent and career numbers, but again, he has to produce right away, and don't till 2013.

Should have been a $150 million baseball player. The rules for us are clearly different.

Crawford will perform at his 7.5+ WAR levels again and for the Red Sox. Maybe this year is just funky for him. 1st (season) is the worst, 2nd (season) is the best. lol, right ... exception: Gonzo.
