Guess KC is getting better.

Hochevar is a talented pitcher who hasn't "got it" yet but still has the talent to pitch a good game here and there. Not too surprising. I'm more shocked that we didn't get to their bullpen.

They lost two low scoring games to a bad team, while beating them the other two with lopsided scores.

That seems typical of the Red Sox this year. A bunch of free swingers with good batting eyes?

They play for those 5 run innings.

The Royals are really good in a few years when they get some pitching.

Hosmer, Bulter, Gordon, Mustakis, Cebrera, Fronceuor... no easy task to pitch against.

Their SS should win a gold glove. Remember Betencourt? LOL I use to expect an error everytime a ball hit his way. That kid they have made some outstanding plays. I wish he'd play SS for us.

The Royals aren't too good now.

My point is the Red Sox win by bludgeoning people with their lineup.

When they don't score runs, and the games are close, they don't win so much.

Smallball isn't in their vocabulary.

That could hurt them in the playoffs, where the pitching is much better.

What is hurting them more right now is patchwork starting pitching due to injuries.

Their hitting has been carrying them.

Maybe that's why Theo has shifted his priority to a starting pitcher.

He knows he can get a platoon RHd bat in RF for cheap.

We lost to Davies too.

Yeah, that was a bitter pill to swallow. Hochevar was a top prospect in all of baseball a couple years ago. Him pulling a good game or two out occasionally is to be expected. Davies was a gutpunch.

On the other hand, we just flat out mauled a pitcher for the Royals who'd been a bulwark for them and had been having a surprisingly good year, so a Royals fan would call our demolition of Chen, and our impotence against Davies, a wash.

Beating Chen to a pulp was not a great accomplishment. He makes most journeymen ballplayers look like long term one team players.
