Believe it or not it wasn't meant for this game. I made this when we were up by 4. I've seen it all season long and they need a place to rant. Here it is and no one can complain about it.

The Sox were up 7-3 in the ninth. I took a nap. When I woke up they're 7-7. I am now grumpy.

That was an absolutely brutal 9th. Between Pap getting squeezed, Tek and Pap letting their emotions get to them (although the ump instigated that s*** with Pap, which was ******** and he'll walk away scotch free), and Pedey's error, that was just an all around terrible inning.

 

But, they showed a TON of heart. The 9th inning was a complete gut shot to this team. For them to be down by a run in the 11th with 2 outs and roast two back to back doubles off a premier closer in Bailey, that is about as much heart as you can ask for.

 

Also, Ellsbury and Crawford had 4 hit games, and Gonzo had a 3 hit game. Gonzo is now hitting .340, Crawford is at .244 and could potentially be around .270-.280 by the end of June with another month liek May.

Tito tried hard to lose this game, but it didn't happen. Too much talent.

 

Instant replay is really showing up the umps. In the Phils-Pirates game today, a Pirates guy was called out stealing at 2B with a high, very late tag. One of the worst I've seen. Total incompetence. The replay was an embarrassment to the League. It wasn't even close.

 

The replay also shows the home plate ump cannot call balls and strikes efficiently from behind home plate. He can't see well enough behind a 230 lb catcher. The view is much better from the pitcher's mound. So why don't they stand out there behind the pitcher? That's where the replay camera is.

That is true, however we do have our favorite player starting at catcher tomorrow, so we always have that going.

After our real slow start and now our terrific streak, I don't know who to respond to this thread because I'm still not sure which Red Sox team I'm seeing. I know we weren't that bad the first 12 games but it is hard to believe we are this good as we've been lately. I mean sweeping the Yankees two straight series in their house? Personally I think it will take me at least one more month to really get a grip on what kind of team we really have. The back end of the rotation is a concern and Youk, Crawford and Drew still aren't playing up to their capabilities. I'm still sitting on the fence as you can tell.
