Here's one for you, Yezsir...from Little League ball you learn that if the count is 3-1 and you need 4 runs, you take the pitch...but not Tito..he lets Lowrie swing...one out! Sorry but that's just bad managing.....

Absolutely, positively HATE the Yankees (their team bus can't crash enough times for my liking, so..) I guess I'm a masochistic Red Sox fan..What I am not is blinded by unquestioning loyalty....have seen this stuff since 1954 and it does get a bit tiresome...especially when things can be done....but are never even tried........

Honestly....have lived in Westchester County for 35 years and can't stand these insufferable Yankee *******s...tough being a Sox fan down here..and as a result, when they don't do well, I'm the one that hears about it....I go all the way back to Sammy White, Norm Zauchin, Jackie Jensen, The Splendid Spl;inter (Spitter), Jimmy Piersall, Frank Sullivan, Heywood Sullivan, etc., etc., etc.

What's scarier is that the Red Sox have lost 7 straight to the White Sox at home I believe. It's not like the White Sox teams are even that good at this point. We're often beating ourselves, although today the umpires get an assist in the loss.

Don't know how to convince you..was born and raised in Holyoke....Dad still lives there....played in Fenway in the annual Hearst All-Star game in 1965.....hit the wall in BP.....still have the ball.....

You're just a kid. I was at the game when Ted spit up at the press box coming in from LF after he had dropped Yogi's flyball--as he was crossing the 1st base line towards the dugout. Contrary to the press reports, he wasn't spitting at the fans--but up at the press box. Not that Ted was ever very warm to the fans, mind you, though most loved him.

 

I remember the Doerr, Stephens, Dimaggio, Pesky teams--great hitting teams with only Parnell and Kinder to pitch. While the Yankees had Raschi, Reynolds and Lopat. Enough said.

Last years White Sox team won 88 games, and an awful April is what killings the Sox W-L record. To say the White Sox "aren't even that good" is a bit of an exaggeration.

I disagree. I think saying that "the White Sox haven't been good" would be a bit of an exaggeration, but saying that "the White Sox haven't been THAT good" is perfectly reasonable, especially when you consider that the White Sox are worse this year, the Red Sox are supposed to be the better team, and that all of the games in the streak have been at home. When you factor all of those things in, it's even more suprising that such a streak exists, let alone is still active.
