Exactly. This was a poor, poor move. Essentially, the Yankees released him due to spite, since they were pissed he broke his collarbone bicycling. Instead, he goes to Boston and gives them a much needed 6th and soon to be 5th starter. I've always liked Aceves, even when people on this site killed him while in pinstripes since he doesnt get a lot of K's and just gets by on command. But he will give you innings and get outs, which is the name of the game

Carl Crawford is 6 for his last 6' date=' with a HR, triple and two doubles. Cool.[/quote']

Not to mention how his OPS has been improved in may (.780); the funny thing is that still people out there saying that he is ok in the 6-8 spot, whata waste of speed if we keep him in the bottom.

You don't want to get thrown out with Agon, Youk and Ortiz coming up.

Exactly.

Yeah but think about how often he's going to be hitting with Gonzo, Youk, or Ortiz on 1st base. Any walk or single is going to stop him up.

No chance he runs more in the 6 hole than in the 2 or 3 hole.

Sometimes Gammons is wrong' date=' but not when I agee with him.;)[/quote']

I don't share his opinion on this... in the end it is reduced on perspective mixed with some stats in order to emit a criteria.

That's the beauty of this sport.:thumbsup:

You just read my mind.

Good thing about this game - We're wearing out one of their LH relief pitchers. After throwing this much, he won't be available later in the series, which could be a big advantage to us in close games late in the game.

It doesn't matter where he bats, if people get on in front of him, it will keep him from running. AGon, Youk and Ortiz are the most likely hitters to clean off the bases in front of Crawford.

Maybe I shouldn't watch this game.

with this advantage, i think you could take some blinks, hehehe :harhar:

still stand the pushup's call?

btw, at school?

It absolutely matters. Especially with singles. Crawford is a pull hitter, and singles to RF, Ellsbury will be able to get to 3rd, leaving 2nd base open to swipe. If Craw hits 3rd (like he was on Opening Day), Pedroia will be able to do the exact same thing. So now, instead of having 3 guys in front of you who go station to station, you've got 2 guys in front of you who go 1st to 3rd on most singles.

No it's not that it's whenever I don't watch this team becomes a offensive monster team EVERYTIME. I even called this game to be a high scoring game yesterday. And no I just got back from school about 15 minutes ago.

Don't worry guys I have school tomorrow so I can't watch tomorrows game either. Expect another high scoring game.

Aceves is making the most out of this opportunity.

As a SP:2 GS, 11 IP, 1.64 ERA. Obviously a small sample size, but we may have struck absolute gold with this guy.

I can also see the merit of Gammons' position. I have always been a strong believer in bunching your best hitters at the top of the line up. Crawford IMO is one of our top 5 weapons, so I would agree that he should be at the top of the order, but who gets squeezed out of the top 5. At the beginning of the year I would have said Ellsbury. I would still lean that way, but it could be argued that it should be Pedroia.

Take a minute and see this way... what can you lose if Pedy goes 3th, A-God 4th, Youk 5th and Papi 6th? no big deal at all...otherwise you can gain a lot in the paths traduced in more pitcher's concern/distraction/focus facing the next batters, more discipline AB for the 3-6 spots and Rs.
