Another day, another win. Keep on rolling.

Beckett Vs. Verlander. Should be a good one.

BPEF, whata streak man!!! the hottest by far this season.

Why is there such a great game on a night I have so many chores to do? I leave on vacation tomorrow for a week I don't have time for this game. Maybe I'll flip on the old radio :)

I'm (2-2)

I was at the game we were 2-10, Beckett pitched a gem. Then the Dice-K 1-hitter 2 days later. I went to the game Doug Fister shut us out. What a waste of a Saturday night. I remember just getting drunk and heckling Ichiro for no reason other than I was pissed at how bad the Sox were playing. I was also at the game that went to 2:45 in the morning, but I left around 11:30, so technically you can't blame me for that loss... lol

Had to pass on seats 13 rows behind the sox dugout....crap

That sucks. Would have been a miserable night though. Rainy, chilly night with Beckett vs Verlander? Offense is going to be non-existent tonight.

I would have sat through Hurricane Ivan to watch Beckett vs Verlander.

With this kind of weather, I'll probably end up being the one sitting there

You know what, for all the whining about Crawford at 8th... Why on earth is Lowrie still hitting in the 7th spot? I know he's no A-gon, but breaking up the LL of Ortiz/Drew would hurt nothing. Why not have Drew hit 9th and move everyone else up? He's a really solid 9 hole guy right now... tons of OBP and minimal run production, and it evens out the LR balance.

Weather is looking good for the game. Only a 10% chance of rain from 6:00 until 10:00, and then only 30% from 10:00 on out.

Thank God. Hopefully that holds and Beckett's start doesn't get cut short.

I've been wondering the same thing about Lowrie and not only does it break up the L/L of Ortiz and Drew but moves the suck that is Drew down in the lineup

That's the thing. Drew only "sucks" at this point because he's hitting right after 3 great power hitters. Walking when there are men on 2nd and 3rd pisses us off. Walking when there are none on would not. If the team used him for his OBP (which at this point is an incredible .370+) instead of his average (.243) he could be significantly more useful to this team.

Agreed but moving him to 9th also means moving Tek to 8th

May stats

Varitek BA .292

Crawford BA .281

Drew BA .202.... but still OBP at .364.

It makes a ton of sense right now.

I agree it would be beneficial but it will never happen

Verlander is an ace therefore this game will result in a Sox win. That is all.

Yeah man.

Seems like the Sox feel comfortable with this kind of pitchers... and seems in the paper like a good pitching game is coming...
