well i would hate to leave the bad empty and he and Middlebrooks are the only ones i think are struggling slightly.. that is why they are in the bad and not the ugly.

i was going to list Aceves but since he was optioned to AAA, i think that problem is temporarily out of our clubhouse.

MBrooks will have to hit this weekend, or he should be benched. He's making too many outs in the middle of that lineup. And Ciriaco is a decent enough replacement for awhile. I would not be shocked if MBrooks winds up in Pawtucket for a short stay.

 

Drew has a longer leash because of his injury--and of course his salary. Salary is a big deal with the Red Sox--they play the salary, not the ability. My guess is Iglesias will get another shot by mid-season if he continues to hit and Drew slumps.
