Wow great game by Daisuke, didn't ever think I'd say that. Now for my favorite time of the year, West Coast games. I love staying up late watching the sox. LETS GET SOME MORE WINS!! GO SOX

I reread the box score on MLB.com fifteen times and I still have no idea if someone is playing a practical joke on me or not. 7 innings? 1 hit? 1 walk?

Lowrie and Ellsbury are leading the team in RBIs. Awesome.

Why did Matsuzaka only pitch 7 innings? According to the box score he only threw 89 pitches.

That's the question of the day... no idea what Tito was thinking there. At least let the guy start the inning and walk off to a standing O

Why the hell do people care if the guy gets to walk off to a standing O?

He was at 89 pitches he had pitched himself a hell of a game to that point. Tito made the right move to get him out of there with a great pitching line still intact. With a huge lead like they had this was the perfect opportunity to save bullets.

Man. After Monday's outing, the guy needed a pick me up. Bad. He got boo'd as bad as you can get boo'd, and deservedly so, but if he's going to get what he deserves, he deserved a standing ovation today to let him know that Boston is behind him if he throws like that.

Awww, boo freakin' hoo. I guess we should have a giant pity party for Dice K every time he has a bad start too huh?

If the guy can't take any positives or alleviation from throwing a great game today without receiving a standing O from the fans, then there is absolutely zero hope for the guy.

Apparently you've never heard of using positive reinforcement as a motivational tool... I'm sure Dice took heart with his performance today, just as I'm sure he was down about his performance against the Rays, but that doesn't mean it wouldn't have helped him to walk off the field to resounding applause for a job well done.

If it was Lester or Beckett throwing a gem like that I'd feel the same... when you throw the ball that well, you deserve to hear the praise from the crowd. Letting him pitch the 8th was a no brainer, especially with his pitch count at that point. He was dominating the Jays and he could have handled them just fine had he gone back out.

OH give me a f***ing break with that horse s***. He's a professional being paid tens of MILLIONS of dollars. If you can't go out there and give it your best if the fans don't praise you then get the hell out of baseball.

Who even said that to begin with?

Someone's a little too mad over nothing

Yeah. You're right. We should all just sit silently rather than cheering on our team. Because hell, we already paid our admission or are paying for cable to watch the game on NESN, so we're basically paying their salaries. In fact, they should write each and every fan a thank you letter and send us a ham at Christmas because we're their boss.

Doesn't work like that man. Obviously none of us can sit down and say "Hey DiceK, great outing today. Keep it up man." So what do we do instead? We show our approval by cheering, and if anyone on that team needed confirmation that he was playing in front of a crowd that was behind him, it was DiceK.

When the hell did I ever say anything about sitting silently and not cheering? You are missing my point bud.

By the way' date=' where the hell has Dipre been? I really want to talk to him about Lowrie right about now :D[/quote']

He was banned, don't know what for but you can pretty much be banned for anything on this forum. The ban is over iirc.

Maybe I'm missing your point. Either way, I think that if he's going to get boo'd off the mound, it can't be a double standard. If he's boo'd off for an atrocious outing, he should get a standing ovation for a solid outing. His outing today was as good as his last outing was bad. That's all I'm saying, if the fans are going to be quick to break out the boo birds, they should be on their feet when someone has such a massive overhaul in 6 days.

By the way, just to piss Dipre off. Going back to last season, Lowrie is hitting .322/.400/.564/.964 with 11 HR, 33 RBI, 27 BB, and 28 K's over 66 games.

Annualized to a 162 game season, thats hitting .322/.400/.564/.964 with 27 HR, 81 RBI, and 39 Doubles.

I know, I know. SSS, but still. The guy has carried his last season into this season flawlessly. At what point do you start to wonder "Is this guy really a .300 hitter with 20 HR/75 RBI potential?"

And if he really is that guy, what do you do with him? Super-utility/DH, but everyday player? Starting SS and *gulp* dish Iglesias + some others for a stud young pitcher?

Yeah, we ban people left and right.

He was banned for one week. He just never came back

Name calling? I guess that's serious stuff on here.

It would be a shame to lose one of the better posters on this forum because he got banned for name calling. Just my two cents.

I was going to respond to this with something clever and hilarious, but I was nearly paralyzed by derisive laughter...and now my ribs hurt so much that I forgot what I was going to say.

And, once again, he is no longer banned, he can come back whenever he wants. (I'm sure he already has). He didn't get banned for name calling, he got banned for continuing a stupid argument.

I appreciate your candid opinion on our moderating decisions...oh, wait, did I say 'appreciate'? I meant 'don't really need to hear or care about'

Cared enough to respond.

I was responding more to your assertion that Dipre was one of the 'better' posters on the site.

I would remind you that crack cocaine is not only illegal, but detrimental to your health.

....calmer than you. <_>
