Dice-K is not doing well this season. Unfortunately, I don't think anyone will trade for him, so what do we do with him. The Sox can't just give up every fifth game, and with the way the pitching is going so far I don't know if you can count on anyone. Should the Sox get a new pitcher? How are we going to deal with Dice-K and his enormous salary?

At this point, I really don't give a f*** what they do with him, as long as he gets no closer to the mound than the front step of the dugout. Personally, I'd be perfectly fine waiving his ass and paying his exorbitant salary if he'll just agree to disappear back to Japan. We're on the hook regardless and at least we wouldn't have to see his ass throw 120 pitches just to get through 2 f***ing innings any more.

Time to give Doubront a look as the 5th starter? The way the season is going thus far, I don't think you can throw Matsuzaka back out there. He has zero trade value considering his $10 mil/year contract, but I like the idea of selling him to a Japanese team. Maybe we can at least get off the hook for his 2012 salary.

One suggestion......tie him to Saltalamacchia and Wheeler and Lackey and dump them all into the Charles.....if they're dead, you don;t have to pay 'em, right?

dice k has nothing in him that shows he can compete here in the majors and has made our owners, coaches, and gm look like fools. Bobby Valentine still sucks his dick somehow

The reason that assface Valentine likes him is that he is trying to get people to believe that Japanese baseball (where Rice-K starred) is actually better than Double A here in the US.....that's where Boobie V had his success and wants everyone to know it....

There are 152 games left and you trail the Yanks by 4 games, who are really your only in league competition. You guys are hilarious. Take it from a Yankee fan, rough starts arent hard to overcome, it's the poor finishes that suck.

That being said, both the Yanks and Sox have a pitching problem. CC and Burnett look good on the Yankee side, Nova has had one good start and one bad and Hughes looks absolutely abysmal. Lester looks solid, Beckett has had one good start, Lackey and DiceK look awful, and Buchholz isnt sharp to start. A good rotation needs to have at least 3 guys giving you innings and above league production. Eventually, I think the sox get that from Lester, Beckett, and Buchholz. I dont know if the Yanks get that past CC and Burnett

What the f*** does the season have to do with this? No ones really panicking about the season. It's about Dice-K. The guy who has basically looked like s*** the past few years, if not most of his career. People are tired of it. And why do you always have to bring the Yankees into the discussion? Again, what the hell does it have to do with Dice-K? The Yankees situation is pretty different from ours.

Dice-K has been absolute garbage since the whole WBC fiasco. He is no more than a minor league quality picher now. The problem is 10 million dollars this season is pretty hard to just let go of for nothing in return. I've always supported most Of Theo's moves. Signing This guy was one of the collosal screw ups.

Daisuke's been absolutely atrocious. If not Daisuke, who do we go to?

Wakefield? Please no.

Aceves for the short term?

Looks like we've got a pitching problem on our hands. Beckett's going to need to step up and produce along with Lester and Bucholz(at least I think we all expect him to come alive). At least the bats have shown a pulse because a lot of runs are going to have to be scored until Lackey/Daisuke come around (if ever).

This thread has become really immature.

Dice has been bad, but he's a 5th starter and it isn't the end of the world. I'm as disappointed as the next guy, but I don't see reasons to resort to "Dice-Gay". What are you, 10?

I think that's a slight overreaction. From a marketing perspective, signing Dice-K was brilliant because of the huge fan base we acquired in Japan.

I figure the franchise has made enough in Dice-K jersey and merchandise sales to cover cutting him and eating his salary.

oh hay guise lets keep our anger PC cause some people can't handle words' date=' of all things.[/quote']

I can handle words just fine. Just pointing out that it's immature and offensive and pointless. Neither of you are improving the quality of this site.

Proceed though. It's your world, we're all just living in it.

That pie gets sliced into 30 different pieces. Color me skeptical that $600 million worth of Matsuzaka merchandise has been sold (to cover the $20M remaining on his contract)
