  1. I think that would be a terrible move. Let's be honest, the Sox aren't going anywhere this year. They might get a wild card spot, but we aren't a starting pitcher away from being a championship caliber team. Ellsbury was a legit MVP candidate last season (probably should have won it). You don't trade someone like that for a guy that only plays every 5 days.
  2. Salty is definitely exceeding expectations. I think a lot of us were hoping when he was brought in that he could be an average, middle of the pack type catcher in the AL. If he can consistently be above average, it's a great return on our investment.
  3. Bullpen, but I really think he needs to spend a few weeks in Pawtucket to regain his confidence before he pitches any more meaningful innings in the majors.
  4. You don't just cut Tim Wakefield.
  5. Seven innings of one-hit ball. Unbelievable.
  6. Right now I think this would be our best order: 1 - Lowrie 2 - Crawford 3 - Pedroia 4 - Gonzalez 5 - Youk 6 - Papi 7 - Drew 8 - Salty/Tek 9 - Ellsbury Scutaro needs to take over our utility role. Lowrie needs to be an every day player until he proves otherwise.
  7. Lowrie is 2-4 so far today with a 2-run homer. He's batting .476 on the season. Think he should be starting much? If Tito doesn't find a way to get Jed into the lineup, he needs to be replaced with someone who will.
  8. I think that's a slight overreaction. From a marketing perspective, signing Dice-K was brilliant because of the huge fan base we acquired in Japan. I figure the franchise has made enough in Dice-K jersey and merchandise sales to cover cutting him and eating his salary.
  9. If Josh Beckett can consistently hit 94-95 on the gun and when his curve is working like it did last night, he's pretty unhittable. Question is, was last night an aberration or can we expect a return to form?
  10. Time to give Doubront a look as the 5th starter? The way the season is going thus far, I don't think you can throw Matsuzaka back out there. He has zero trade value considering his $10 mil/year contract, but I like the idea of selling him to a Japanese team. Maybe we can at least get off the hook for his 2012 salary.
