The Yankees have had PLENTY of offense that last couple games y228 haha.

It has been really unimpressive and unsustainable. Lot of walks, made possible by struggling pitchers. The fact is, few guys are hitting the ball solidly right now on a consistent basis.

I know lol. Where were all you guys?!?!

All kidding aside, I just like to share my thoughts when I'm watching the games by myself, and obviously if anyone else wants to chime in...

I watch when the Sox are not on. yankees pitchers been very lucky with how the defense of Gardner and Granderson this year. it seems every game I watch they save the tying or go ahead run.

Haha yeah, I was only kidding. I expect to be mostly talking to myself.

As for the defense, Granderson has actually struggled a bit lately, but overall he has been good. Gardner is just a tremendous defender in general, and he's off to an excellent start. That play will probably be there all year.

At what point will Girardi move Jeter to the bottom of the lineup? He has two extra-base hits on the year - both doubles - in 100 at-bats, which is rather startling.

I didn't know he was that bad. My God

CC didnt have his best inning, but after the second double, he settled down. The offense has been productive even without being good. They will score on Penny, I have no doubt. I just hope CC's first was an aberration rather than the norm tonight

I know you really like to look at the result with these pitchers, but in every start except the one against the O's, I think you'd have to admit that CC hasn't looked all that much like himself. He has got it done, but until he really kicks it into gear, he's bound to get hit at some point.

His numbers are on par with his career numbers and he's typically a slow starter. I dont see much of a change from his prior aside from the fact that he's started out hot

You really think he has thrown the ball as good as his numbers suggest so far this year?

Posted

That's the kind of thing that pretty clearly shows CC isn't himself. To throw a slider, in that spot, in that count, to that batter ... is so so so horrendous.

EDIT: As I said earlier, this was bound to happen. CC isn't throwing the ball any better early in the season than he has in other seasons. For the most part, he has been fortunate. Can't wait for the second half version of him.

Jackson is pissed off we traded him' date=' can't say I blame him... I would be too.[/quote']

He has been pretty awful against the Yankees this year lol. Just got two cookies to hit tonight.

EDIT: And he's not very good in general.

The Yankees couldn't do anything with Penny?

Nah, and he wasn't particularly good either. Like I said last night, despite scoring at least five runs a game (for the most part), the Yankees offense is struggling. What changed tonight was that pitchers stopped giving them tons of free base runners.

The offense is bound to heat up. Granderson is above his career OPS right now. Cano is right at last yr's OPS. Martin is above his. Aside from those two guys who are overperforming and the one guy who is performing to last yrs level, the entire team is underperforming. They will get back to the back of the baseball card. When they do, this offense will be something to watch

CC didnt have it off the bat tonight, but he battled and got through 7 with a chance to win. So be it, he cannot be dominant every night out
