Just another day at the office for Brett. HR' date=' double, single, and a very nice catch in LCF. 4th OFer!!!!![/quote'] He's in a groove right now. I picked him up in one of my Fantasy leagues. I always try to ride the hot hand. In a few weeks, when he comes back to earth I will do what the Yankees will do to him sometime in the next 2-3 years... cut or trade him.

Not just a hot streak ... OPS now over .800 with his defense and speed makes him a good player.

4th OFers are valuable, and he is a good 4th OFer. The problem for the Yanks is that they don't have 3 good OFers.

But there's no sense in getting into this discussion again ... we both have pretty firm stances on the topic.

EDIT: Just saw your latest post ... yup, very well argued.

Well then don't goad me if you don't want to discuss it.

Haha well if you want to continue to discuss it, by all means, I just don't think either of us are going to present any new arguments. My main point, though, is just to point out that he continues to play well ... which he has for much of this season and much of last season.

By your logic, Crawford and Drew are 5th OFers

By your logic' date=' Crawford and Drew are 5th OFers[/quote']The talent levels aren't even close. Keep Gardner. I hope the Yankee FO over-estimates his ability like many of the Yankee fans do.

Blow up Wrigley. It looks like ass.

How can people keep showing up to what such a s***** team over and over?

Blow up Wrigely? wat. Wrigley is awesome. Blow up the Cubs, keep Wrigley as a memorial.

.800+OPS for a guy who hit under .200 for 40% of the season thus far. The kid is good. Admit it

Yankees are so f***ing classy, they sent this to Mitch Talbot for hitting A-rod. I have no idea what this says but I know its bad

Nova gets into and out of trouble in the first. We need him to throw more worm burners than high fastballs. When that 2 seamer is down, he is unhittable. When he tries to go up with the heat without setting it up first, he gets burned

It would be nice if he could miss a bat every now and then ... but that's probably too much to ask for.

I dont care if his K rate stays where it is this season. Everyone knows that his bread and butter is the heavy sinker. He has a putaway pitch in the curve to work off of, but if this yr, he stays with his strengths and next yr he starts working on becoming more of a swing and miss guy, I'll be happy. He has silly stuff, as with most rooks, its all about location

Well we disagree about his stuff. It's decent, nothing special ... which is why people typically place his ceiling at the middle/back of a rotation. Unless you have a great sinker (like CMW), it's hard to sustain success at this level if you can't miss bats. I guess we disagree, but I see Nova's sinker as a good pitch, yet far from what CMW had.

It's a step below CMW's, but it is still hard and heavy. CMW could run his up to 97-98mph when he was on. Nova can run it up to 95. The thing that Nova has that CMW didnt is the curve and the potential for a solid change. I also like his 4 seamer at times. I dont know how you can say his stuff is middle to back of the rotation. He sits low 90s, can run a 2 seamer up to the mid 90s and his 4 seamer has been clocked in the high 90s. He has a curve that when its on, is unhittable and a workable change. Not sure what else you want to see in terms of stuff. His location and his demeanor could use work, as with all rookies, but right now, he's pitching to a 4.40ERA on stuff alone

Well I'm saying that's the general scouting report on him ... and it says that he doesn't have top of the rotation potential. I think the sinker is good, four seamer is hard but with poor location, curve is decent with room for improvement, and I'd hardly call the change workable (especially considering he never throws it).

BTW' date=' Phil Hughes threw well in his rehab start. Topping out at 95mph, sitting 92-93mph. They're building him up, but word is, the heat is back[/quote']

Yup, heard this also. Can't wait till him and Colon are back. I would assume it'll be Nova back to AAA ... which could benefit him as he would have a chance to refine his command and off speed pitches.

I keep Nova up. After an abysmal April, his line is 56IP 60H 23ER 21BB 29K for a 3.70ERA with a 1.44WHIP. It's not great, but it is good and his best days are coming. I'd move Garcia to long man and option Pendleton

For what it's worth, both of Charlie Morton's complete games this season (including a shutout) were against the Reds. For all I know his only other complete game in his career could be against the Reds, but I'm not sure about that.

BTW' date=' Nova is shutting down the best offense in the NL and the best offense outside of NY and Boston[/quote']... and don't forget that Nova sucks.
