Couldn't watch the game since we're still in the hospital, but CC looked to be on fire in that one. Surprised to see him not start Mo in the 9th with a 2 run lead after a couple days off, but it ended up working out

Watching what's happening to Bart today ... I just don't understand why this doesn't happen more often. His location isn't all that much worse than normal. The problem is that he has one pitch, and the other team knows that. It's the main reason why I think he has to regress significantly as the season progresses.

And Martin's crazy pitch selection does not help.

EDIT: Oops, meant Cervelli. And even there, the right pitch on 0-2 to Hunter is the FB up, but why would you go to the two seamer instead of the four seamer. You're looking for velocity, not movement.

Do you think he'll win comeback player of the year?

It's all about his location y228. Colon throws a downright nasty sinker there, a la Wang. Not sure why he waited until now to unleash it. He cannot operate up in the zone. The Trumbo HR and the Conger double were both elevated. He does need to work in his off-speed stuff, and the thing is, his breaking ball and change arent bad. I think he regresses to the mean due to injury and stamina issues more than anything, but if his stuff stays as it was yesterday, he'll still do well

I hope an HGH tainted fat embolism in his shoulder breaks free and lodges itself in his heart while he is on the mound. He's a fat lazy cheat.

Joba on DL with a strained flexor. Out 10-14 days
I didn't realize that Joba had any muscles to strain. Are they saying "flexor" when he really strained his man boob?

We all like to beat up on that pompous ass John Sterling, the Yankee Radio Announcer, but I just found out that he offered on air condolences to my friend, Mike Mancuso who lost his Dad the other day. Mike has been doing weekend and evening updates for WFAN radio in NY for 20+ years. It's a part-time job for him. Sterling is not on WFAN and Mike is a huge Mets fan and known Yankee hater. Nice touch, John. It meant something to those of us who are friends with Mike.

Burnett has sucked today and the offense is dead. I am hoping the sox pile on another 10 runs, cause they need a serious level of embarrassment IMO to break out of their funk vs the sox

This team, as currently constituted, cannot beat the sox in a 7 game series. And in order to win the WS, they will need to do that. The sox just passed the Yankees, although in the L column they are tied. But this might be the last time the Yanks are within sniffing distance of them. The Yankees are a playoff team, but the sox are a juggernaut. We need to see our hitters actually come to play before we are down by 7 and we need at least one more pitcher capable of beating elite competition.

Joba Chamberlain has been diagnosed with a torn ligament in his throwing elbow.

An MRI revealed the damage on Thursday. Chamberlain has already been placed on the disabled list and could need Tommy John reconstructive elbow surgery if the problem can't be fixed with a simple rehab process. There's a chance we won't see the 25-year-old right-hander on a major league mound for an entire year.

And the hits keep on coming. Well, might be time to bring up some of the new kids on the block and see what they can do. No more Marquez and Sanit garbage. Bring up the big boys

What?! Joba may have Tommy John? This is terrible. I was feeling giddy with excitement at the possibility of reliving a favorite sports moment. Joba going back to Cleveland for the ALDS...

BTW, Hughes was hitting 92 consistently in his bullpen session. You have to think that with more reps, he'll be riding a higher FB.

This is a huge blow to the teams biggest strength. Soriano is probably going to need TJS too, IMO. But we have a glut of kids in the minors with big time arms who needed a chance. Here comes their chance. I expect Noesi to be called up as soon as his 2 weeks are up and be a key cog either in the pen or the rotation. I also expect Kevin Whelan to see the pen soon as well. By the end of the yr, it wouldnt shock me at all if we see Dellin Betances in the yankee pen.

Martin out for the 3rd straight game. Another Cervelli shitfest on tap for tonight. Why the f*** dont we have a third catcher up for even one game?
Posada has been banned from the catching equipment. The emergency catcher s Swisher, who ain't no ouitfielder

Carmona coming into the game had been the victim of bad luck. A WHIP of 1.26 and an ERA of 5.71 shows that. He would be a great buy low candidate. Regardless, we're a cold Yankee team with a rookie on the hill, and we've responded

This is the way Nova should be. His curveball is dropping in for strikes, he's working the sinker down in the zone and is throwing the 4 seamer up out of the zone. If he can get consistent with that, he will be a very solid starter
