At this point I have 5 people's Power Rankings, and I'm working on mine right now. Everyone else has until tomorrow night to message me your power rankings, and I will do the calculations and display the results on Tuesday.

Doesn't surprise me. Unlike the NFL draft, I think a lot of the teams are very close in this one.

Doesn't surprise me either. People are probably judging teams on how they think they'll perform for the season instead of what they've seen from them in previous seasons.

Exactly. I feel that there are a lot of close teams. Some at the top, some at the middle, and some towards the bottom, but the difference between a lot of these teams isn't that much.

 

KEEP IN MIND: That the final power rankings will be the ones that set up the elimination matchups, and they will be based on the regular season performance of your players, so every team will have a fair chance to move around during the course of the season. Even the team that's ranked last in these rankings will have a fair shot at winning it all of those particular players do well.

Everything needs to be taken into account when evaluating a team, and defense and lineup balance are no exception,

Just so everyone knows (although I'm sure that most people don't care) I'm sending my friend the rosters so he do his own power rankings. I've had him do it for all of the redrafts that I've been apart of, and each time he doesn't know which team is mine, so the only bias he has is that he's a NY sports fan (which is probably why he favoured Divinity's team in the last baseball redraft)

 

I think he had WB's team in the NBA redraft and my team in the NFL redraft. Anyway, if anyone cares I'll post his power rankings when he gives them to me (around the time I post the other rankings)

 

On another note, I only have about half of the rankings, so the other half of you guys need to make sure you give me your power rankings by tomorrow night.

For the record, the way I'm doing the scoring is to assign point values to each rankings, and then tally up the points in the end. The difference is that I'm doing it DIRECTLY proportional to the rankings (ie 1st = 1 point, 2nd = 2 points....13th = 13 points, 14th = 14 points) rather than INVERSELY proportional (ie 1st = 14 points, 2nd = 13 points....13th = 2 points, 14th = 1 point) because doing it directly will punish those that don't vote.

 

For example, by doing it directly proportional to the rankings, the person with the lowest amount of points wins. When people vote, since they aren't voting for themselves, they are still helping themselves because they give themselves 0 points (since they can't vote for themselves) and the team that they put in 1st still gets 1 point, so by voting, the people help themselves out. Therefore, by scoring the votes directly proportional to the rankings, it gives people an incentive to vote, since they get punished if they don't vote.

 

Whereby if I scored it inversely proportional to the rankings, people would have an incentive to NOT vote, since the people with the highest amount of points would win, and people would gain 0 points from voting since they can't vote for themselves, and they'd be giving the last place person at least 1 point.

 

Therefore the people who haven't voted yet are hurting themselves, and that should hopefully get the remaining votes in. I'll post the results either as soon as the 15th power rankings come in, or sometime tomorrow morning.

Of the people remaining, only A700 would surprise me if he doesn't have his power rankings in by tonight.

Divinity said he'll have his rankings in tonight. I messaged the others, and I don't think that A700, Exman, or Flynnatic are online, even though both A700 and Flynnatic were both online this afternoon.

Exman responded to my message, so I have a strong feeling that he and Divinity (who told me he'd have his rankings in by midnight) that he'd have his stuff in tonight. I honestly don't see a700 not sending me his rankings, so Flynnatic is really the only one I'm worried about.

I don't see Flynn making an appearance tonight but that's ok we have almost everyone's rankings. Flynn had his chance though so I really don't know why he didn't send them.

I just got A700's rankings, so now it's just down to Divinity, Exman, and Flynnatic.

I just got Divinity's power rankings, virtually right on time. Now it's just Exman and Flynnatic left.

I have the preliminary results at this point. We're still waiting on Flynnatic and Exman to send in their power rankings. There's a tiebreaker necessary right now but I'll wait until I wake up tomorrow (roughly 10-11am) to see if either Flynnatic or Exman have sent me their rankings. If at that point neither of them have, I will ask you guys what to do about the tiebreaker and then post the rankings.
