Edgar Renteria already has a hit to win a World Series, and he has made the last out in a World Series. He might have just hit the HR that wins this one as well.

I think you're all taking a lot away from the San Francisco Giants by implying that their pitching hasn't completely dominated this very good Texas Rangers offense, which is a huge accomplishment. Texas' weak offense in this series has been less that they've fallen flat and more a credit to the amazing performances of this young and dominant San Fran pitching staff. Give credit where credit's due, baseball fans!

Great recovery by Lincecum to strike out the final two hitters of the inning. At this point, I don't think Bochy should put anyone else out there besides Lincecum and Wilson (unless of course TEX ties or takes the lead).

I think it's worth pointing out here that a San Francisco Giants' offense got to Cliff Lee in the postseason.

Twice.

In really, really big games.

Does this fact affect the Cliff Lee bidding wars on the horizon? After all, it's a big fat failed season in the Bronx if a season doesn't result in a World Series Championship!

It's highly unlikely that one bad game and one decent game will have any impact on his next contract. The bidding starts at 6/120, and will go up from there, with the Yankees undoubtedly offering the most money, and Texas coming in at a close second.

I'm not sure about that. I'd think that a less-than-stellar World Series appearance will have an impact on his next contract. If he'd been absolutely lights out in this series, there would certainly be a few more teams--ones that could afford him--vying for his services with great intensity, which most certainly would have driven up the price by the ultimate winner.

For some reason this reminds me of the fact that Mark Teixeira and Nick Swisher have really s***** playoff numbers as members of the New York Yankees. I'm so glad we have Youk instead of Teix. Youk and Lester are two of the most underrated players in MLB right now relative to their peers who get so much more relatively undeserved press and attention. It's ridiculous.

Does Big Time Timmy Jim (damn that's a long name) come out for the 9th?

I think it would be unwise if Bochy were to pull him at this point. Outside of two batters in the seventh inning, he has been pretty close to untouchable.

On the first part, some teams might feel that way if he didn't have a phenomenal postseason track record preceding these two starts. But we'll see.

As for Youkilis and Lester, maybe the mainstream media doesn't give them enough credit, but anyone who knows anything about baseball knows that those two players are two of the best in the game at their respective positions.

Some guys parlay a great postseason into a contract. Others have been dominant over the past few yrs and a great postseason increases their value by a little. Lee was a CY winner in 2008. He was an ace in 2009 and had a postseason to remember in a losing effort. He was an ace again in 2010 and had a great postseason aside from one start. Lee is the best pitcher available and might be the best pitcher in baseball. His postseason will have little to do with his contract.
