Softest run ever. Infield single off Hughes' glove, a walk against Hamilton when he probably should have had him struck out, and a terrible decision by Posada.

The Rangers only put one ball in play against Hughes (a weaker chopper), and score a run. The Yankees hit three balls very well in the second, and get no runs. Hope this luck changes.

Hughes was reaching 95 with his FB when he was in trouble in the first. I hope he didn't gas himself there. With his pitch count already way up, he won't be long for this game.

GET HIM OUT OF THE f***ING GAME!!!

Shouldn't have been starting the game in the first place. The Yankees made their decision based on a 15.1 IP sample size. So stupid. Start your best pitchers in the most games, and no matter Hughes did in the ALDS, Pettitte is better.

His fastball location has been abysmal thus far. This is not the Hughes we saw over the last 2 starts. Seems he and CC caught the same bug. I think we have a very good chance to come back again since we are ripping Lewis, but we need our f***ing pitchers to stop giving up runs

They wanted to put Pettitte against Lee so it wouldnt be so one sided.Pettitte is also a money pitcher. They wanted to slide in Hughes in that second game.

I know why they didn't. It doesn't make it the right move. Start your best pitchers in the most games. Hell, if it's so important to matchup with Lee, why not start CC in Game 3?

Answer: Because you go with your best pitchers in the most games.

Posada f***ing sucks. I really, truly hope he is not in a Yankee uniform in the offseason. He is f***ing garbage. Cannot hit to the situation, cannot f***ing catch, cannot throw. He's regressed to the point of ridiculousness.

I have my issues with Posada, but he still posted a 116 OPS+ this year. Pretty excellent for a catcher. Next year he'll probably only catch 30-50 games, and then his Yankees' career will hopefully be over.

He's already cost us 1 run. His lack of situational hitting nearly cost us another. And he calls an abysmal game as well. Jesus Christ' date=' he is a walking stolen base.[/quote']

The game calling is on the organization in my opinion. Cervelli isn't any better, and neither was Molina last year. As for the stolen bases, Posada has a poor arm, but that's more on the pitchers than anything. There isn't one guy on this staff (the league has caught up to Pettitte a bit) that holds runners on well. Posada rarely has a chance.

But I agree, Posada has his issues.

Huge DP right there, but every ball has been crushed. Hughes needs to reverse course here. Gotta go inside vs righties and outside vs lefties. All lefties are pulling him and all righties are creaming the ball away. Its almost as if Hughes cannot get he ball down
