I read an article in USA Today that contested that the NFL would be a safer league for the players if they wore less padding, specifically helmets, like Rugby players. Granted, you can't go from how it is now to all of a sudden less padding and such as it would take years for guys to be able to change the way they play, but I do think it's an interesting point.

I used to play No 5 lock, forward - second row; the powerhouse. One of my mates was captain of rugby for Ireland youth team. Great game, so is Rugby League - fast, hard hitting and virtually no protective gear.
