I know many of you may be getting sick and tired of a potential influx of many Liverpool fans onto your boards recently. Maybe you're arguing, or not getting on well with our fans at all -

but hear me out here.

Not all of us Liverpool fans are idiotic, racist, uneducated morons.

In fact, of the millions of Liverpool fans worldwide, only a few are responsible for the flag burnings and protests which the rest of us view as xenophobic, racist and wrong.

Hicks and Gillett do not represent your entire nation. They could easily be from any nation on the planet. And so the majority of us do not single out your country to blame.

I, myself, was incredibly interested to hear of this potential deal - one of football's most prestigious and successful clubs teaming up with one of the most beloved, well supported and successful clubs in American baseball? it sounds like a mouth watering prospect.

I'm not a follower of Baseball myself and I can't pretend to know what I'm talking about - but I wish the club, and their fans, success in future years whether the deal goes ahead or not.

and remember, Red Sox fans:

You'll Never Walk Alone.

Well said.

Welcome to the boards, Liverpool fans. Admittedly I haven't, at all, kept up with this situation and I don't have the time or energy to read through a 33 page thread, so would somebody please catch me up with what's going on? Flag burning?

edit: And also, just listened to that "You'll Never Walk Alone" song for the first time. I f***ing love it!

Hi there, thank you for the welcome.

Flag burning. Aagggg - an isolated, stupid incident by one fan. Every Liverpool fan has done everything they can to distance themselves from it.

In short a bid of 300 million UK pounds has been accepted but our current "owners" are trying to block the sale. It goes to the High Court this week sometime.

Don't worry abut the money though (easily said I know) Liverpool Football Club is highly profitable. It is in trouble because Hicks and Gillett took out a loan to buy it - all of our profits have been eaten by interest payments.

Without the debt LFC makes millions of pounds per year. Their current shirt sponsorship alone is worth 20 million UK pounds per year and ten there is of course millions from worldwide television rights.

Let me know if you'd like to know anything else.

Thanks again.

You'll Never Walk Alone.

You'll Never Walk Alone is our anthem. Sang at the start of every match and often during. We sing the song in times of defeat as well as times of triumph.

The song means so much to us. It is also the club motto "You'll Never Walk Alone"

I barely worry about my own money, sometimes. Damn sure not going to worry about some billionaire's money. :D :D

I've been looking for a Premiere League team to cheer for. I kind of took to Arsenal for reasons I'm not sure of, but I think that whether or not the deal goes through, I'm a Liverpool fan. The song sold me.

Yeah, I was aware of the club's usage of it. I knew it's in their crest and I knew the phrase is used by the fans, had just never thought to listen to it before.

Type "You'll Never Walk Alone" into YouTube and watch it being sang at some of our Big European nights at Anfield.

Same here, I know nothing about Baseball but will be rooting for the Red Sox :)

Ok thats cool :) It is a great song.

It was put on our crest after the Hillsorough Disaster - a day where 96 fellow Reds were killed at a football match - no violence involved - bad policing put too many fans in one part of the stadium which resulted in a dreadful crush... Just in case you wanted to know.

Some of the early "Liverpool fan" post were sad mancs stirring it up. They were joking about who posted what on their own forums, sad gits. After the initial flurry, a few real fans stuck around, with Sox people chipping in. It's been quite sane really, like a stroll in the park after a large dinner. A welcome change from the usual twatfest surrounding the prem and internet retarded warriors.

Celtic use it too, and their rendition is just as good.

Ahhh, that is good to know. By the way, the entire crowd singing it is awesome.

If I could post a video of the singing, I would. But forum rules won't let me :o:thumbdown

As said above, we're a very profitable club, we have one of the largest revenues of any football (soccer) team in the world, but it's all been going to pay off the loans. Once the debt is cleared, we're a very sustainable profitable club.

The only thing holding this deal up now is the court case on Tuesday between Hicks & Gillette vs the club. We 'SHOULD' win the court case, then it's all but done.

If all goes well, Red Sox will be my baseball team! :D

We've got idiots too.

In fact, I'd bet we've got more of 'em.

This is the best news I've heard all week. I freaking love Liverpool, so the Sox buying them makes it even better.

Henry will take care of Liverpool just fine. He will hire those who he trusts to run the soccer-related affairs but keep a watch over it. He will take a big role in PR and maintaining good positive team image. He definitely has the ability to bring Liverpool back to prominence... I want to see Gerrard hoist another Champions League trophy!

In all honesty Sox fans a lot of this apologetic nonsense being talked about on here by so called Liverpool fans, about flag burning, is from fellas who don't even go to the game, they're gloryhunters who inhabit the internet. I was at the protest where the stars and stripes were burned and it was a spur of the moment thing by a couple of young lads. It wasn't orchastrated or popular but was seen by these teenagers as being something to express their dislike for Hicks and Gillette and was in defiance of the police who were trying to stop them from protesting. It was nothing so I don't know why these fellas feel the need to hurry and tell you about it and and inform you we're all idiot racists except for them. Makes you wonder what their agenda is doesn't it?

calm down, john.

i'm as passionate a liverpool fan as you are, I just hate to see the minority representing the great fans of our club. we have no agenda, we just want to show how we're friendly and eager to learn from eachother about the sports we support.

right there Cal.I dont by this not real fans crap either Shaft. Why are the supporters who buy the merchandise go out to watch in pubs or home any less of a supporter cos they cant go to all the games<_ i now who comes in my house family then other things......>
Posted
stop talking shite:rolleyes:

Do you mean like talking on behalf of everybody about stuff I didn't even witness and only read about? Yeah right lad, top red you.

Posted
if fans cant go to the game they can watch it anywhere they like.To be honest it would cost me a hell of a lot to go to Liverpool every home game and my family is way more important than a footy match....

No arsed about that Cyril it's people apologising on behalf of Liverpool supporters when a) they have no mandate to do so, B) they don't actually go to the game so know little about us as a support and c) they weren't even there when it happened so don't know anything about it. I read on some other post on here some fella saying it was the same people who burned Gerrards shirt and quite frankly that is as far from the truth as it's possibe to get, the young lads who burned the flag were on a protest about the clubs owners, they care deeply about this club deeply enough to get off their arses and do something about it however unwise their actions turned out to be, the fella who burned gerrards s*** was just a clown on his own trying to get on telly egged on by Sky Sports. There's a massive difference in my eyes.

So having a season ticket is a pre-requisite for being a Liverpool supporter now? Ive got over 300 match day programs in my loft but havent been to a game in 12 months. Half of the people you are slagging off for apologising care at least enough to bother registering on the Redsox forum to chat with our potential new cousins.

Half of the people apologising are scared of being branded 'Racist idiots' by Americans which I dont blame them for personally. The lads who burned the flag were just as stupid as the lad who burned Gerrards shirt imo, if not more so. The lad who burned Gerrards shirt just risked alienating one player.... the lads who burned the American flag risked alienating an entire nation. Theyre passionate yes, they care yes but they should have thought before doing something so utterly stupid. You also didnt need to be there to know it was a stupid thing to do.

Also how can you call them 'Gloryhunters'?? Weve won nothing for the last 4 years so if they were proper gloryhunters like you claim they wouldve packed up and shipped out. Afterall theyre on here posting comments during our worst period in 50+ years.

You may be a fellow scouser and red, but frankly m8, youre talking out of your arse.

Really? You're just projecting all that shite about season tickets, I never said any of that. What I did say is you don't have a clue about the burning incident as you weren't there were you? Gotta ask why you weren't seeing as you're local yet you are critical of two teenage lads who bothered their arse to turn up. I've already said it was unwise so I don't need to repeat that but lets be honest here, your real gripe is I called you on your stupid statement about Gerrards shirt burning and the flag buring being by the same people and quite clearly it wasn't but you being the voice of the people apologising can't be wrong, can you?
