Is this just because we have the same owners as the British club? For god sake. When did people around this great city start being a fan of a team we have no connection to? We have a local team. New England Revs! follow them. They need more fans. That way you can attend the games.

Certainly this side of the pond there are Scousers that have started to take a bit more of a shine to baseball & the Red Sox in particular... though TBH, think they are just grateful to John W Henry for taking over, getting rid of the 2 scumbags Hicks & Gillett, and getting the club heading in the right direction again. Because of this, they are taking a bit more notice in his other interests, such as the Sox. Don't see any harm in it; for example, Celtic & Liverpool have a number of mutual supporters and it doesn't hurt to have good relations.

Liverpool won last night by 2 goals to 1 playing away to Stoke. Luis Suarez scored the goals. It was a decent result and puts us through to the next round in the League Cup. Thought I'd let you know seeing as we're cousins now ;)

Watched the game last night until Stoke scored. Tried to pick up some of the nuances in the game. Still looks like a lot of people kicking a ball around and I can't grasp more than the basics right yet. Give me hockey anyday -- same basic concepts, much more speed and action in the execution. Although for a soccer game, the pace wasn't terrible -- seemed to be fairly up tempo on the whole with a fair bit of back and forth play. Am I wrong?

I will say that I'm not surprised LP won after I found something else to do, since the scoring chances were radically in their favor in the part of the game I watched (Jones got pretty lucky and there was this one Liverpool player who seemed to get chance after chance denied by a fair Stokes keeper).

Very good Dojji. The game is a lot faster in England than anywhere else, a lot more physical demands are placed upon you. The player you mention is Luis Suarez and is the first player FSG bought, for circa ?24m, we could sell him tomorrow for ?50m. He is going to be a world beater. I should say the ?24m came from money we got from the sale of Torres for ?50m.

The Revolution have become probably the most irrelevant club in MLS, thanks to the Krafts not really giving a sh*t.

In order for the Revolution to get out of the shadow of the Patriots, they need to literally get out of the shadow of the Patriots and play in their own 20,000 seat stadium.

And they need to play in or very close to Boston. Eastie, Wonderland, maybe Suffolk Downs depending on how the casino thing plays out. I guess Assembly Square is not an option anymore...It would have been the perfect spot. Close to Boston, two interstates, an immigrant community, etc....

They need a smaller stadium filled to capacity, a way to carve out their own identity, and a way to build atmosphere. 13,000 Revs fans singing songs in a 65,000 stadium is just depressing. But God bless those diehards.
