So, couple things.....

CC wasnt sharp at all from what I saw on gamecast. I would assume he was the same in real life. Seemed to miss a lot of the plate. The fact that we won game 1 in Minny against the Twins ace with our ace wild as hell is AWESOME.

Now, we wrest home field from Minnesota and get to face off against a pretty soft rotation after Liriano. Now, our rotation after CC isnt anything to write home about, but our offense should crush Pavano. Tonights win gives us a very tight grasp on this series

It's already been out of the bag that he's Dutchy. Jacko should be the last person to talk about something like that. Ey' date=' Rivernator, bbdoc.[/quote']

 You weren't even HERE for Rivernator. How did you find out about that?

I have been outed for awhile and have come clean about it. The thing is' date=' when you come back under the new sn, you need to not be an ******* like you were before. Dutchy/Imperial/Yaz Sideburn has continued the same ********, which is why he'll be banned again[/quote']

Exactly. Rivernator was an incredibly biased and obnoxious Yankees fan who took every opportunity to tell us about how, no matter what, the Yankees were better than the Red Sox. He made sure to constantly inject his opinion about how the Red Sox weren't as good as we thought they were into otherwise happy OR miserable moments for our members, and constantly busted out with comments like 'chew on that' or 'the yankees will get better and the Red Sox are in a deep hole they'll never climb out of'

You, on the other hand, are completely...uh...well...

You know, come to think of it I have no idea why you're still here.

You three are f***ing ridiculous.

As far as i'm concerned, everyone has been on their best behavior lately. So what you should do is STFU and enjoy (if that is possible after another Gardy shitfest) what's left of the goddamned game.

I just took the same position as you, (i.e., that this would have the usual ending with the Yanks winning), and people got upset. I understand Emmz getting upset, because she is a Twins fan. She should know that I am sincere in hoping for the destruction of the Yankees. If she doesn't believe me, she is welcome to come to my home for the holidays to witness the s*** that I will have to take from relatives if the Skanks win.

However, there was no reason for the cheap shot from the troll. Sorry, but there was no reason for it. It's his second cheap shot at me in two days. I PM'ed him after the first one, but he took another one today. If he wants to keep coming back under different identity and not continue to get banned, he should eat some humble pie like Jacko did.

The Yankees are much better equipped to win a short series' date=' though. No two teams are as set for the postseason as the Yanks and Phillies probably.[/quote']

I agree with you completely, I wouldn't be surprised if these are indeed the two teams that are back in the World Series.

For the past year, I've read the fights and crap forum. Good stuff, lots of Rivernator threads.

But, like I've always said, the playoffs is far too unpredictable. 47% of the time the underdog has won. (Or something like that)

One last thing.

Whoever thinks this series is over needs to re-think their approach.

The deciding factor will, (as usual) be Gardy.

Neither team is better prepared for a short series, they both have question marks, and the games still need to be played.

Pavano had a very good year and Duensing was a pleasant surprise. Hughes and Pettite are just as "liable to get shelled" as those two.

And this is the playoffs. Past success doesn't mean jack s***. Unless Gardy's having his usual brain farts. Crane had NOTHING. He had no business facing Teix.

In the 7th inning, I said to my brother that the Twins have to show that they can win. I told him that Gardenhire was a Jackass to bring in Jesse Crain, who absolutely sucks against the Yanks. I told him that he should've gone to Fuentes for 2 innings and then Capps even though the game was tied. This game was huge for the Twins, and he managed it like a regular season game. I'll say it again. Crain sucks against the Yanks. He threw away the game as usual. I hate Gardenhire. I don't care how good a baseball man he is. He should be replaced at playoff time. Every year, it is the same s***.

See my post following your post about Gardenshit. The only chance that I give the Twins is if Dopey Girardi tries to out-manage Gardencrap and he manages to out-smart himself. That is a real possibility. Torre just sat back and let gardenhire manage himself to defeat, but Girardi might actually react.

Jesse Crain career vs the Yanks:

.943 OPS against, 7.31 ERA in 16.0 IP (not including tonight) which is significant SS for a pitcher.

Gardenhire made the same mistake earlier in the year. It's almost as if he tries to lose against the Yankees but if the Twins put up a crooked number against Petitte or Hughes, which could easily happen the way they've been pitching latley, it would be hard for Gardenhire to blow it.

Well even if the Twins stick to their guns and manage to lose to the Yankees yet again, i don't think the Yankees will have such an easy time with the Rangers. Cliff Lee is absolutely filthy.....

If he and Lee can't both win two games, they are sunk.

They're pretty evenly matched. The Yankees had CC on the hill' date=' this was a game they were supposed to win. We'll see what happens when Pettitte and Hughes take the bump.[/quote']

This works both ways though. The Twins had the guy on the mound who's far and away their best pitcher (and they were the home team), so you can make the case that they were supposed to win.

I think that Gardenhire needs to go through some program to help managers know when and when not to put in relievers. He does this more than anybody else. Poorly managed game.

Emmz, a lot of managers have that trouble. Girardi ran into that last night too when CC started walking the park and gave away a lead. The thing with Gardy is, who does he bring in? We hit Guerrier, we hit Crain. Rauch is probably the only guy we havent historically crushed, but he cannot pitch 3 innings. The Liriano vs Granderson matchup was as good a matchup as he was getting. Granderson just beat him.

Regardless, I know this series isnt over by a long shot. BUT, the big thing is, the pressure is off for tonight. We can win this thing without coming back to Minnesota, which is a huge boost. That being said, a sweep would be absolutely fantastic as it allows CC to not have to go on short rest and gives us time to set up our rotation for the ALCS.

Oh, and for my stalker, I am not working tonight. So as long as I dont go out to watch the game, I will be here.

I agree. We all have settled into a chronic state of dysfunction without a massive blowup from any one sector.

anything is better than Guerrier or Crain. Fuentes and Capps sounds much more appealing.

Capps is your closer, though, so you dont use him up in the 6th or 7th. Fuentes is good vs lefties, but the game really turned on a better lefty lefty matchup with Liriano and Granderson. I think the Twins bigger problems came with their inability to score off Robertson with the sacks packed. You had two late chances that fell by the wayside

Once Liriano was out of the game, Gardenhire should have gone to Fuentes in the 7th when the game was tied. Going to Crain was like forfeiting the game. No Morneau (a top 3 AL hitter when he got injured) + the stupidity of Gardenhire = defeat. It's as simple as that.
