Ok. I've tried to ignore you' date=' but seriously, get the f*** off this board. I'm serious. IF you were a Sox fan, you wouldn't have said this. No one, and I mean NO ONE who is a loyal fan (whether they be a Yankee, Royal, Mariner, Oriole, or fan of whatever) leaves their team. You, my friend, are nothing more than a spinless bandwagoning troll. Hell, the idiots who post 1,000s of comments in ESPN columns have more credibility than you. And stop acting as though you care about this team. If you were a serious enough fan, you would have thought of something more creative than a boston team name combined with next calendar year as your f***ing user name. For christsakes you don't even have a f***ing avatar! Seriously, though, we don't need **********s like you roaming this board whenever something potentially falls apart with the FO. Just go away.[/quote']

All of the reports have said the sticking point has been the difference between 6 years and 8 years. Not one report mentioned the shoulder anywhere.

If there was no trouble with the shoulder then i think there would have been no trouble with the 8 years. 7 years with a few extra bucks on the years could have worked too.

Where did I say I wasn't a fan?

Just said I'm not going to any games. Got rid of tickets. I still secretly hope they win every game but wouldn't mind a few years of losing to ensure Theo finally gets fired.

You see you guys don't understand business. Noone can make as many errors as that guy and still hold his position. Those of us who are into business look at what we are getting for our investment and aren't happy so we sell.

Initial reports also deemed this a "done deal" then information slowly surfaced otherwise.

But if this really fell through due to haggling over money, then heads must indeed roll.

My guess is years and money.

As I said.

That's an ambiguous quote that could have gone either way, smartass!

GoBruins needs to learn from you and be cautiously optimistic instead of "So obviously pessimistic that he looks like a Yankee fan in disguise".

Werth Close To Deal With Nationals

HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA.

Offseason crumbling all around us.

This is f***ing ridiculous.

Bridge year......or s***** franchise?

My opinion on this for what it's worth... Personally, I just don't see how it gets this far and then they call it off completely just like that. Theo has been in love with Gonzo for years now... no way he lets him walk for $20 million or less overall in the deal. That has to be the ownership, if indeed that deal is off completely.

In the end, I still think a deal gets done, and regardless, I won't go apeshit over this.

If the Nationals sign Werth. That would just put a stamp on a horrible day thus far. Hopefully this AGon thing picks back up. If not I hope Beltre is on the Phone.

This is about where I am. I think it is a blunder of epic proportions' date=' moreso than what happened with Teixeira because they have exclusive negotiations, if this falls through. This is a "lose your job" blunder, IMO.[/quote']

Agreed completely. 100%. Get it done.

I think that the difference between 6 years and 8 years is quite a lot. And most people would agree that Tulo's extension was an enormous blunder by the Rockies.

I'm still optimistic that a deal can/will get done in the future. Keep in mind that they've had about a day to try to negotiate.

f*** Beltre. Get Gonzalez or I'm not getting the Extra Innings package or mlb.tv package next year. No tickets, no spending. f*** it. A generational star, a former #1 overall pick, and they're f***ing squabbling between 6-8 years?

As a Red Sox fan I'm sick of being embarassed by these types of things. It is intolerable.

MLB Trade Rumors

Werth Close To Deal With Nationals

Free agent outfielder Jayson Werth has agreed to a deal with the Washington Nationals, a source tells Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports (via Twitter). Werth signing with the Nats would be a surprise, though the pairing does make sense. Washington now has money to spend after losing Adam Dunn in free agency and needs to replace the bopper's bat in the lineup.

It was said earlier this week that the most serious suitors for Werth were the Phillies, Tigers, and Red Sox. Boston met with Werth on Wednesday though contract terms were not discussed.

This is going to get ugly quick.

Werth off the market it looks like. Once again Epstein outclassed. Nothing shocking.

Can someone please stop this guy from posting for a day or two? Please? He's just trying to get the rest of us to say something we can't take back.

Wow. Finally on board with me huh?

I said this exact s*** at the trade dealine.

I like how we're always "outclassed" as if there weren't 29 other teams trying to sign FA's.

Anyways, i bet that pink hat nation is about to go into a panic.

Brace yourselves, everyone....

What I don't understand is why they would think they could get an extension done anyway? If that was a sticking point then nobody should know about the deal, or potential deal, until it is finalized.

Red Sox fans have been continually dragged through the mud on this s*** and I'm sick of it. Absolutely disappointing.

And Werth is going elsewhere? Awesome. That's f***ing awesome.

Pink hats don't have the pit at the bottom of their stomachs like you and I do. This literally hurts my soul.

Fire Theo clap clap.

I don't see why 8 years is such a big deal to be honest. He will be 36 or so at the end of the contract and he has averaged 30+ HR's a season for 4 years now. If they were willing to do six that tells me his shoulder is not of much concern to them.

They already did.

They stopped going to the games last year to watch Manny Varitek pitch and Mike Wakefield hit bombs over the monster.

All thats left is us people who really care about this team, and even you have to be disgusted with these series of events.

GoBruins is an idiot........Dipre, you KNOW Ive been preaching this s*** for 2 years.....and I got murdered on these boards. How dare I talk bad? Well, most of the s*** I said then was true whether you like to hear it or not.....and it is now coming in to fruition.
