I don't think its taboo thinking at all. But I've decided that I'm not counting on the Sox making the playoffs-- not because I don't think I can, but because I'll enjoy the season so much more if I don't. I keep saying it, but this has been the most exciting season in a long time (okay, 2004 was pretty big). With all the new guys coming up, and so much displacement, its hard not to like how they're hanging in there. Even if they don't make the playoffs, its the kind of season that makes a fan happy to be a fan because of what the team fought through.
