BTW, I've been watching/Listening to Dick Stockton since (about) 1970. I can't believe he's still at it.

He was mostly laughable on the old channel 4 . Now he's not so bad.

okay, now i see how Jacko will be right about the Red Sox not making the playoffs. except it will simply be injuries that does this team in.

wow - who else is going to get hurt?

what the hell happened to Clay?

Somewhere between 1st and 2nd he pulled up hurt.

I hope it's just a sprain. That would be bad enough. Anything more than that and you can kiss this season good bye.

I hate to say it, but this team might want to start building for next year. Losing Pedroia and Buchholz in back to back games with Beckett, Ellsbury and Drew out, Papelbon is sucking, Lackey is having an off-season... its looking bad. Trading Beltre/Papelbon/Vmart might be worth it if they fall out too many games.

why? we are only 3 games out of 1st, tied for the WC and its only June.... I mean its not like Peds, Beckett, Ellsbury, the rest of the OF will be out forever

Seriously though, someone needs to address these ridiculous NL rule problems to Selig, just as everyone is upset with a lack of instant replay for questionable/close calls by umps. NL rules SUCK! It's a f***ing disgrace to the game to see a guy like Jon Lester or Cliff Lee step up to the plate. Most times, when a pitcher steps up to bat one of two scenarios unfolds: 1)They bunt; 2) They just stand there. It's not cool, it's not entertaining, and it has a negative impact on AL clubs in particular. This issue MUST be addressed.

reminds me of the injury to Wang in interleague. didn't have to happen. screw pitchers hitting.

Yes.

You grew up here so you have some understanding of what it means to be a Sox fan.

It's a long season. Let's see what Theo does.

good enough job by Atchinson, can't expect that guy to be lights out....

I remember the days of 1990's and early 2000's, granted I'm not that old, but those times sucked

well, you wouldn't have to be old anyway to recall the 90's/early 2000's... yeah, those days sucked.

And 2006.

I was born in the 80's, but don't remember that decade. anyway, let's hope this doesn't turn out to be a repeat of 2006.

Well, I don't disagree with your opinion. But NL ball is what baseball used to be.

Lackey at the plate! As it used to be!:blink::lol:

The way I see it, the problem has nothing to do with which side is better or worse. The problem is that AL pitchers get hurt because there is the difference. It doesn't matter whether they decide to keep DH or get rid of it, it just needs to be consistent-- otherwise players get hurt.

and that means he is out for how long....

i dunno.

well i think i answered that well. now i'll move on to the next question.

Plus, if the AL and NL are not consistent, it skews the statistics between leagues. I agree that they should be the same, whether or not they keep the DH.
