And Mark Teixeira. There's a case for Alex Rodriguez too' date=' who opted out of the contract he was in, just so that he could get a raise from the only team capable of paying it. Furthermore, he was acquired after, and only after, all other offers to trade him under his previous contract failed. The Yankees scarf up talented players who other teams find burdensome to their financial plans. Yes, some of their starters weren't acquired as FA contracts. However, in recent history, many of their trades were about, and only about, salary relief, which goes back to the principle mentioned in the post, the financial advantage.[/quote']

Ah, not sure how I forgot to mention Teixeira, my bad.

And I agree, the financial advantage helps in the trade market, I never denied that. I was simply responding to Mino's point that the Yankees acquire all their talent via free agency. Not only isn't this the case, it's far from it.

Your right i take that back. Not all yankee fans are ignorant and annoying.I was just in the moment.I do hate the yankees with a passion though.Red Soxs fan till i die!

March on, Macduff!

Most Yankee fans are ignorant, the rest are annoying.

Occasionally, you get someone who was born into it (like we were) and they know their history, they know who's pitching for them tonight, and can name 3 or 4 players in their starting lineup. Those fans are rare; they have been unfortunately predestined. I look upon them with pity; they never had a chance to choose good over evil. They are tolerable to some extent.

The great majority of Yankee fans like the way the hat looks. They can't name more than two starters and still think Clemens wears pinstripes. A brilliant Red Sox observer once noted that they are, "A mile wide and an inch deep." Poetry in my opinion.

A few weeks ago I led a school trip outer island to do some hiking and service. While waiting for the parents to drop the kids off I noticed one young lad step out of his car with a NY Yankee necklace on. Before his second foot hit the pavement, I told him, "There is no way you are getting on the plane with that paraphernalia around your neck."

He smiled, as if it were all a big joke. I waited and stared.

After a moment or two, he took of the necklace and gave it to his mother.

He boarded the plane and we had a discussion about what it meant to be a "mile wide and an inch deep." He's considering options on cheering for a new team-- I suggested one for him to think about.

Just wanted to let you know that I'm doing my part to educate the youth of America, as we all should.

A mile wide and an inch deep is the sox way of thinking they are better fans. The problem is, the pink hats show the hypocrisy of such a statement

Wrong. A mile wide and an inch deep is poetry.

Girardi's mismanagement of the roster selections and game situations makes him the first AL manager to lose the All Star game in 14 years.

He just cost the Red Sox home field advantage in the World Series.

A-Rod probably shouldn't have been selected, but other than that, which selections did you have an issue with?

Girardi's selections weren't bad at all...A-Rod and Big Papi were questionable, but he was much better than Manuel and had all the best pitchers on the team

Manuel put Omar Infante on his team and decided to leave out Joey Votto and Carlos Gonzalez, Votto has been a top 10 player in baseball this year, Gonzalez has been the best outfielder in the NL

And how was Girardi supposed to know that Thornton was going to give up a 3 run double? He had been absolutely dominant in the first half

Haha who the f*** said we don't have bandwagons? Your putting words in my mouth. Go cry me a river. You should see the trolls brag about the 27 championships the Yankees have. Fans like you I respect because your the real ones. Your attitude just sucks ass.

It's just hypocrisy to bag on the bandwagoners when both sides are full of em

If you want to see bandwagoners, go to a Pats game.

It's sickening.

Lets be real who would have more bandwagon fans? The Yankees or the Red Sox? A team with 27 championships or 7 championships? A team who won last years WS or the team who last won it in 2007? Be realistic.

It doesn't matter. Just the fact that Jacko wants to get all into it everytime someone says something "negative" about the Yankees. Since this is a Red Sox forum you'd expect most trash talking to be about the Yankees. I'm pretty sure this thread is to explain why you hate the Yankees. Bandwagons are the reasons. Now If I'm not allowed to explain why I hate them let me know.

Back home and after much traveling, much thought, and some new experiences, I just wanted to note that upon much reflection I hate the f***in' Yankees as much as I ever have.

Cheers,

I can't tell you how happy I am that the Yankees are out of the playoffs. The two-faced "classy" organization that insists on buying the top free agents every year got their ass handed to them. It's pure joy. Now, they're stuck with fading talent, huge contracts, and age... Unfortunate that they'll land Cliff Lee, but it sure is nice right now to see those smarmy hypocrites at home watching the WS on tv.

Yes, it is truly embarrassing to get to the ALCS and get eliminated in a 7 game series. Truly embarrassing and yes, we have nothing to look forward to for 2011. Seeing as our outlook is pretty poor, how's yours?

Yes' date=' it is truly embarrassing to get to the ALCS and get eliminated in a 7 game series. Truly embarrassing and yes, we have nothing to look forward to for 2011. Seeing as our outlook is pretty poor, how's yours?[/quote']Because you are a very knowledgeable baseball fan, I know that this is BS. The Yankees had the best team all season long. They fizzled in September largely because Girardi managed like an imbecile. He tried coasting through September to rest his guys or whatever and he got burned. Losing the division and the home field advantage was huge. He lucked out getting the Twins for the first round, because Gardenhire soils himself whenever he sees pinstripes. He was able to sleep walk through that series while Texas and the Tampa knocked each other off. He got additional luck in that the Tampa-Texas series went 5 games and the Yankees would not have to face Lee or Price until game 3. He benefited from more luck in that the Rangers coughed up game 1 of the ALCS. Despite all that luck, he failed to go with a rotation that would allow Pettitte to pitch game 6 on full rest with the option of pitching CC three times. He also managed each game like it was a regular season game by not going to his horses in favor of the likes of Mitre, Logan, and Robertson. He blew the series pure and simple. Just looking at the results, it looks like the Yanks were just beaten, but you and I know that the outcome of this series turned to Texas as a result of a stunning string of bad decisions by Girardi. He is a terrible manager that had a team in 2009 that was able to win in spite of his stupidity. He ran out of luck in 2010. This 2010 championship is the one that got away for the Yankees, and you should be pissed off. I am still pissed about 2008. The Sox should have gone back to back in 2008, but management messed it up. The Sox never should have lost the division to the Rays, but needed reinforcements never came, and they let Buchholz stay in the rotation way too long when he wasn't ready. His 2-9 record cost us the division and side-tracked his career. Your 2010 was very similar to the Sox 2008. I said the same stuff after 2008 about going to the ALCS etc. etc., but as more time passes I realize that it was a huge missed opportunity.

If you don't think your team is at a crossroads, you're dreaming.

"Short on Class"

"Obnoxious Fans"

Pfft. Like Twins fans can really complain about those. Kettle meet black.

And this is an example of the pot calling the kettle a pot. Just saying, the White Sox have the most notorious ******* fans.

Well no wait, either them or the Phillies.
