The statue was positioned in front of the museum on June 3 by Major League Baseball and Disney as part of a contest related to the upcoming All-Star Game at Angel Stadium on July 13. Visitors did not have to pay to enter the museum to see the statue.

 

Oh really? I'm pretty sure everyone was thinking you had to go inside the museum and pay to take a look at a mickey mouse statue that's outside. Whoever wrote this must be smoking the finest quality Cali Medicinal Herb.

 

 

yeszir, that quote sort of answers your question. They placed a bunch of mickey mouse statues with all the mlb teams logos on it and had a contest where whoever took a picture with each of them and uploaded it first they would get all star game tickets.

Mickey was dressed in Red Sox gear simply because the BoSox are so easy to root for. There is not the condescending arrogance that permeates the Yankees from King George on down.
