They gave a pretty good overview of him at the beginning of the game. As a reliever his ERA is in the mid 3's' date=' and as a starter, its in the 5's. They also said he gets a bit predictable, and as batters get a better read, they hit better as the game goes on. I think Remmy said he was best suited for long relief.[/quote']

He will probably move to long relief when those guys in the minor leagues come up.

The #2 pick this yr was one of the best HS pitchers to come out in a LOOONG time. Taillon is gonna be f***ing ridiculous.

Drew whatever his last name is going to be good too.

I'd still take him as mid-long relief on my team.

He's big, strong, competitive, young, and smart. I think he just need time and good coaching.

I missed that review. I based my opinion on my own observations from when he was with the Sox.

Yeah' date=' that helps. Drew "Whatever his name is".[/quote']

I didn't want to f*** it up too badly..my guess would have been Promenaz.

I have an idea. Look it up. It makes you look less like a backcountry hick with a 2nd grade education. BTW, it's Pomeranz

I'm way too lazy to look it up.

Your stupidity is directly related to your laziness. Stop being so lazy and you'll start getting smarter.

@Jacko - You may have been surfing at the time, but it was reported recently that Scutaro has an evulged

(sp) or bulging disc between the 6th and 7th virtebre (sp again!) and a pinched nerve. He is experiencing numbness and loss of strength in his left (non-throwing) arm. He has had , I believe, two cortisone injections. That can't continue, can it? What would you speculate is going on and what do you see happening based on that description?

Masterson is owning us tonight. He owned the Yankees in his last start, but the Yanks worked the count and got him out of the game. We are not doing anything with him.

Cortisone is a steroid and is usually mixed with an anesthetic. The anesthetic works immediately, the steroid works over a few hours. The hope is to decrease inflammation, but repeated injections cause damage to the joint space, so no, you cannot do that forever. The treatment for this is rest, which is something he won't be doing. Either he is working out with an eye towards the neck, ie strengthening exercises and avoidance of significant neck strain, or he just gets better on its own. Or, he goes the other way and needs to have it fixed or be placed on the DL. When the sox get healthier, it might behoove the sox to give Hall a start or two a week at SS and give Scutaro some time off

ORS debated me earlier about Masterson clearly throwing strikes, but watching the game and checking out Gameday shows they've been fishing out of the zone all night long. Specially Reddick and Hermida.

The game's not over quite yet. And there is no shame in loosing to good pitching!

And please keep in mind that a series win is what is most important. "We" don't need to sweep!;)

This is a team that we both should sweep. Just kinda sucks that we gave up a 6 run lead to this scrub offense to avoid the sweep

That's because you can't expect to sweep. It is what it is. If a team swept every opponent it was "supposed" sweep, then 100 win seasons would be a normal occurrence.

True' date=' true. Just this bag of suck team should be swept by any team within sniffing distance of playoff contention. Only true morons would root for this suckass team.[/quote']

They do suck ass, but a combination of Masterson having the good stuff and the Sox swinging at stuff out of the zone all night long (Hermida, Beltre, Reddick, i'm looking at you) is a great combination for losing a ballgame.

I remember my Orthopedic Surgeon explained how cortisone works (and boy, does it!), but she also explained the hazards of prolonged use.

In any case, I think this will likely become an issue so I asked the questions so we could all know something about what is happening if Scutaro becomes measurably impaired.

Hall is the backup plan, as Iglesias isnt ready yet and Lowrie is nursing a sore vagina.
