is this pick on rsr night ?

Is this "repeat what others say without specifically trying to pick other posters off, but use it as mojo to help Bucholz stop his current suck" night?

Masterson started the fifth inning with 41 pitches. Jesus Christ, stop swinging at everything.

53 through 5, at a 40/13 ratio.

He's throwing strikes.

Masterson was like this when he faced the Yanks too. When he keeps the ball low in the zone, he gets grounder after grounder. His problem early in the yr was both wildness outside the zone and wildness up in the zone. Elevated sinkers are beatiful homerballs

Masterson does suck. One good outing doesn't erase the ERA and s***** peripherals. Stop being an idiot.

Actually he has had 2 good starts...one vs. the yankees and one vs. the red sox (so far).

I've always said Masterson is a work in progress. If he can find success against lefties, he could be a solid # 2/3 starter.

It's all predicated on his changeup. Without a good changeup, he'll be mired in mediocrity as a starter and would actually be better suited as a righty specialist. If the change rounds into form as a true weapon vs lefties, then he'll be an innings eater

I've never heard you say this but I agree.

Masterson did not suck in Boston. Maybe it's the water in Cleveland.

I'd still take him as mid-long relief on my team.

He's big, strong, competitive, young, and smart. I think he just need time and good coaching.

No, it's the moronic fans that turn all players there to suck. And the pollution

If I were you' date=' I would root for your team to lose ASAP so they can get the top pick. They are going nowhere[/quote']

The top pick is already locked up by the O's.

They gave a pretty good overview of him at the beginning of the game. As a reliever his ERA is in the mid 3's, and as a starter, its in the 5's. They also said he gets a bit predictable, and as batters get a better read, they hit better as the game goes on. I think Remmy said he was best suited for long relief.
