We're doing puns and his name has Pun in it. The jokes write themselves.

EDIT: Oh, you were talking to YOTN. Duh -- sorry.

I knew that, I got every single one of them except for the Pedroia one.

Last season Clay might have given up the lead after the error. Lost his composure around 100 pitches and grooved one. Those two ground balls were a sign of a much more mature pitcher than the one that struggled in 08 and 09.

If only we could have had him finish the game so we don't have the heartbreak of letting our bullpen pitch.

Don't be so pessimistic. Papelbons' outing last night and Oki/Bard holding the Yanks down should have been enough to Schoeneweis man that the bullpen will be okay.

That's terrible. :)

Bucholz should not be pitching the 9th with over 100 pitches and the meat of the lineup due up. Even if he gets away with it, it's an awful decision by Francona.

And again, you're wrong. And he's at exactly 100 pitches.

The era of the wussy armed pitcher is over. 100 pitches, total dominance through 8... bring him in the 9th, have someone in the pen warming... first single get Clay out of there.

I agree. No reason to burn him out when he and Lester have been carrying the rotation by themselves.

Nonsense to all of you. Seriously... You wussy arm loving cream-puffs are working my last nerve.

I sometimes wonder which posters have the vaginas on this board.

It's not the 1970's. It is the era of wussy armed 100 pitches. No reason to burn him out if you have a couple of bullpen arms available to pitch.

That's what they pay them for.

You are wrong..pitchers are babied to much.. he is at 100...Bard and Papelbon have been overused... Clay has been dominating tonight.. they have a few cheap hits and 2 hard hit balls all night.. All of Clay's pitches are still sharp...this game is over.. Nice CG Clay!

Who would you bring in Dipre?

Wrong.. there is a trend in MLB to lose that ******** 100 pitch 1990's wimpy ass policy. Many teams have flushed that loser of a fad right down the toilet.

Whoa. Calm the hell down. I was just saying that there's no reason to bring him out again when you can have someone else throw fifteen pitches and end the game. If he had a shutout going, maybe, but he's up facing four guys in a row who have all four (now five) hits off of him. Why risk it? Why not go to the bullpen? Isn't that what a bullpen is for?
