When they hit, they don't pitch, when they pitch, they don't hit. When they do both, the other team hits just a bit better and pitches just a bit better.

This has to change.

One thing I don't like about how Francona manages Beckett (and his has nothing to do with his injury that he supposedly just got) is that Francona never takes him out of the game until he's given up 5 or 6 runs.

What a surprise' date=' Joe Girardi's complaining about something...[/quote']

You don't think that was a reasonable time to question the umpires?

Nothing wrong with questioning the umpires, I don't think I would have argued with them after I got my answer and then played the game under protest. The guy likes to complain.

In the spanish broadcast they said the reason Girardi was talking to the umpires and had them make that phone call was to inform ML HQ of the reason why the grounds crew did not remove the tarp from the Sox bullpen in a timely fashion.

I don't think that's correct, because they confirmed on the YES broadcast that the Yankees protested the game.

I think it's a rare situation where a protest is appropriate, because there is nothing to lose, and it comes down to the interpretation of the rules.

Haha, I'm not upset, just repeating what they said on the broadcast I'm watching.

In my opinion, there has to be something mechanically wrong with Beckett, and it finally manifested physically today.

If that's the case, and Farrell hadn't picked it up, then he really does have to go.

yep, he just may be a part of the problem in us not getting the best out of our pitchers...

Michael Kay's talking about how incredible it is that the Yankees are winning with Cervelli, Thames, Miranda and Winn. But 3 of those 4 players are vastly overperforming to the point where their production so far has been better than the regular player they're replacing. Cervelli had a .453 BABIP and a .987 OPS and a .786 AVG with RISP, Thames had a .447 BABIP and an OPS of 1.024 and Miranda currently has an OPS over 1.000 in the few games he's played.

But that's the point. He's not saying they've won in spite of those guys. He's saying they've won, in part, because of how well they've performed.

I can come up with so many old offseason threads, about the none Yankee bench player being better than Bill Hall. But I'll let it pass.

Bill Hall? Really?

Not saying otherwise. But i'll take him over the Mcdonald/Hall combo anytime.

I won't. Because in the end, it'll all even out. Not to mention the combo would be Hermida/Hall, who has actually been pretty productive without the aid of flukes.

This game ain't over yet.
