It looks like Ellsbury's going to be back sooner rather than later. According to Will Carroll, it's possible, though unlikely, that he'll play this weekend against the Yankees.

Sweet. That would be awesome if he can get back in by this weekend. Ells makes our lineup that much better IMO

I really can't get excited about a report that says "possible but unlikely". I have a lot of trouble getting by the "unlikely" part. Scott Boras is no doubt ecstatic about the Red Sox recent troubles. Ellsbury's market value has gone up with each loss.

I got my tequila in the fridge and the nachos in the oven for Cinco de Mayo. Nachos for for the grub and the tequila for the inevitable Papi disappointment

Why does Ortiz keep hitting before Beltre?

Better question, why is Ortiz still starting? Keep him on the bench, send him to AAA or drop him. It was one thing when he's an instant out, but when he's an instant double play he's too big of a liability to the team.

I agree, but if he HAS to be in the lineup, at least bat Beltre in front of him.

Last year the only reason why the Sox kept giving Ortiz ABs' date=' was because there was no guys to back him up. Lowell is too good to be kept on the bench as Ortiz kills rallies[/quote']

Makes it seem as though winning isn't the priority, does it. That is damaging to team morale and to the fans.
