GOM Fearless predictions:

5. Cano will put to rest the RISP debate with a solid season with runners on base.

Check.

7. Victor Martinez will put up great numbers at the plate, but the Red Sox ERA will suffer greatly with him, ala Posada. The grumblings should begin in the summer.

He isn't hitting yet, but he will. About his ability to handle a staff...check. Sorry Dipre, Jacko, and ORS. The three of you can't come close to me on this one.

9. Boston's defensive scheme will backfire. Building a team on defense instead of power when you play half your games in Fenway is a bad idea.

How many runs did you guys score so far today? Check. I never understood strong offense/poor defense catchers. Teams like the Yankees and Red Sox will spend over 100 million on their rotation, and then get a catcher who can't frame a pitch or throw out a runner. It's like buying an Aston Martin and putting Hot Wheel tires on it.

It may only be April, but I really think the Rays were better than their record last year, and due to their collective youth, kind of gave up when they got buried early. However, when they won the division, they got off fast, and never looked back. If you guys aren't careful, the Rays will tuck themselves in under the Yankees and run away with the Wild Card. Before you know it, you could very well be 10 games behind us and the Rays.

Unfortunately, Reddicks' hot ST did not carry over to AAA. He's hitting about .130.

Still, I'd prefer to see him in the OF than either Cameron or Hall. But who then becomes the reserve infielder?

Above all else, they need somebody why can catch the ball. Reddick at .130 is still an upgrade over Hall.

The boston offense has gone 0 for their last 30+ with RISP

Yeah, and they are hitting about .140 with RISP this year. So much for the vaunted balance.

Don't you know? There's no such thing as clutch.

Exactly. Hall isnt going the DFA route. If anything' date=' Hermida can go that route.[/quote']

How do you figure? Hermida has shown better stuff at the plate. And just because Hall can go to the infield, doesnt mean he's actually good with the glove at any position

Circle-jerk over yet' date=' old-timers?[/quote']

Dude, dont you know? What happens in April is the be-all, end-all to the knee-jerk squad and their love affair with RBI.

Not for me!

No, I'm just taking the opportunity to have some fun. I am sorry if you are offended.

*Yawn*

Wake me up at the ASB.

Gom is dreadful. My god. Even I, as down as I am on this team right now (see: my avatar)... would acknowledge that it's way too early to bury a team like the Red Sox.

And Jacko, I don't see how the Red Sox came into 2010 with any worse an outfield than the Yanks.

Gardner/Winn, Swisher, Granderson. The only one I like is Granderson.

Ellsbury has been out for 7 games, Cameron's been dealing with the kidney stones. They really need to put Ellsbury on the DL retro active so they can get Reddick up here

EDIT: Woo hermida, yeah he'll be DFA'd before Hall huh Jacko? Plain and simple, this kid has pop off the bench

But your back and shoulders hurt often. And you can't be JD Drew because he's quiet.

True that.

I just spit my drink out.

Praise the Lord.

Spat. And clean the computer screen, circle-jerking old timer #2.

Who'd have thought that our 2-5 hitters would be the only ones without a hit today?

Martinez and Youk are the ones really killing this team right now.
