A record was set tonight in the Yankees-Sox Game

Most of you didn't realize it, but when Rivera appeared in the game, it broke the record for a trio of teammates playing together. The previous record was held by three Brewers, Jim Gantner, Robin Yount, and Paul Molitor who played 15 consecutive seasons.

Posada, Rivera, and Jeter have played together now for 16 consecutive seasons. Quite an accomplishment, if you ask me...especially in New York.

Money helped make this happen, among other things, but those are three guys who are you so committed to this franchise. It's great to see.

Talk about an obscure meaningless record. Had it not been for World War II interrupting 4 seasons this would not have been a record.

But today many Americans ascribe to his socialist economic policies. However, I think we can all agree that he had a real blindspot for international diplomacy.

Honestly, the Jeter/Posada/Mo thing is great for sports. I like it when you can think back on a guy's career and only picture one uniform.

I have no idea how this record is good for the sport. Whose accomplishment is this-- the players for having long careers or the Yankees for keeping them on the team. If they each played 16 major league seasons for multiple teams, would their accomplishment be any less significant. This so-called record is really not an accomplishment, but rather just an answer to a very obscure trivia question.

I like it since for it to happen, three things have to happen:

1. All three players have to perform at a high level.

2. All three players have to start at pretty much the same time.

3. Both the team and the player have to have a desire to stay together.

Jim Gantner played at a high level?

What's the definition of high?

I agree with this. When I said "it was great to see", I meant that from the perspective of a Yankees' fan.
