As of late, Robertson has pitched more recently than either Joba or Wood, yet Joe goes to him against the top of the order. The Rays are unbelievable, they just keep coming.

It is not funded by the Yankees, it is funded by scout.com and is run by a Mets fan who has a staff of scouts and gets better info than what you can get from BA since he is dedicated to the Yankees specifically. Frankie Piliere, the scout from AOL, used to scout for him. They have been right on most of the time

Eh, first pitch to Joyce was probably a bit high. I do think the 3-2 slider to Johnson was a strike though.

How did Petite look the other night?

Solid. The big thing for me was the mobility on the mound. He made a bunch of athletic plays without limping at all. But his stuff looked good. 88-90mph fastball that he located, good cutter, good change and a very good curve.

 

BTW, the offense is busting a nut all over James Shields right now. Bout f***ing time

Now Phil Hughes better come out throwing strikes and not nibbling on the corners. He really pisses me off sometimes when he does that

They didn't do anything, but they looked good against Shields in the second inning, which gives me hope that their one big inning won't be all for the night.

not really. if the rays won the next 3 games we could be 5.5 games back of the yankees with 6 left to play against them. i think our chances would be better if the yankees swept this series though, then rested players in our series with them
