Sucks, but it's going to happen. Once again, they wasted a ton of opportunities to add to their lead, and it has come back to bite them.

The good thing is we have our #3 and #4 hitters on the bench should there be an opportunity

I have umbrage with pinch hitting for Pena there. Pena is a better bet to make contact which is what you needed there. I would have saved Thames for later in the inning

Probably a good idea. A Yankees' sweep obviously isn't as good for the Red Sox as a Rays' sweep would be, but, if the Sox sweep, they would be only three games out with ten to play. It would give them a fighting chance.

Ivan Nova really, really has impressed me. He's shown his inexperience in some of his setting up of hitters and his mental mistakes on 0-2, etc. But his 3 pitch repertoire is very impressive. With more experience, he is gonna be an innings eater. I just hope we dont dump him this offseason for a "veteran" who might be no better than he is

His OPS is 20 points higher than Jackson's and Grandy has played very good defense. I am going to go out on a limb and say that he is a major breakout candidate for next season

I don't think it's realistic to expect him to return to his 2007 form, but he's had a solid year, and I think he can certainly improve. I like the move now, and in the long run.

He has an .828OPS in the second half, and the biggest thing that makes me hopeful is the fact that he's starting to hit lefties. From April through July, he was truly a platoon player stuck in an everyday role. If he can carry over his ability to hit lefties, then he is gonna have a bounceback 2011
