Exactly. Sometimes guys in funks need some time to clear their heads. And the thing is, the situation always seems to be finding Kearns. It seems like every K he has had has seen at least 1 hitter in scoring position

So now Cervelli has to hit because AJ needs a personal catcher. Wonderful!

If that is what AJ needs to get back on track, then so be it. Posada really has become a major liability behind the dish and with a head case like Burnett, sometimes you just have to help him in whatever way he thinks will help. Burnett's issues are all mental

I guess so, but this team isn't hitting at all, and this inning is going to be a perfect example of it. They have absolutely no issue putting men on base, but the bottom of the order is so incredibly bad that they can't put any kind of run scoring rally together.

Our situational hitting must be the worst in the league. Kearns cannot get a runner to third with 0 outs and Cervelli cannot hit a f***ing flyball with 1 out and the sacks packed. Now, captain grounder is up

He hit it well, but this is terrible. New game, same story. With the exception of that eight game winning streak, it has pretty much been like this the entire second half.

Nonsense, they are a 2nd half team, Jacko promised me that was the case.

Dammit, I thought their .671 second half winning percentage in 2007 meant I could expect a great second half in 2010!

Their second half has been exposed by the loss of Pettitte, the injury to Swisher and the complete disappearance of Jeter

Why in the world would he go to the fastball there on 0-2?

I have no faith in this team to call that right pitches. It hurt them last postseason, and it continues to this year.

I think my point in that discussion was that the whole year would allow all these things to work themselves out, and that a good half here, or there, was not indicative of a specific trend. Man, was I wrong! Thanks for showing me a thing or two.

you blame the entire second half woes for the yankees on pettitte and an injury to swisher that's kept him out for the last 5 games? that's a stretch, even for you

Might be a little extreme to bring the IF in with Millwood looking like crap, and the heart of the order coming up for the O's.

EDIT: Doesn't matter. See Yankees, it's that easy to make productive outs...

EDIT 2: Why would you try to paint the outside corner on 0-2? Go out of the zone.
