Would Marmol be willing to be a setup guy? I agree that Cincy could use another setup guy (as can every team), but I'm not sure if Marmol is that guy. In any event, I'd rather be a Reds fan in this trade than a Cubs fan.

He was placed on the DL and the all star game is before he is eligible to come off the DL.

I figured that starting David Bush (4.07 ERA) against the Pirates lineup (without Ryan Doumit) would have been safe. I had him in both of my leagues, but I dropped him in one league just before his start since I had to replace a non-starting player in my lineup. Anyway, he's given up 9 runs in the first inning. FML.

 

For the record, he had given up 2 Earned or less in his last 6 starts, and had quality starts in 7 of his last 8 starts. Seemed like the Pirates lineup was a safe bet. F***.

Yeah, it was Carl. It was on pick off throw to first and throw hit him right in the nuts, he went down in pain as Wigginton for the Orioles calmly tagged him out.

It hurts. I wore one as a 1b, but never as a pitcher and I got hit mid game. Embarassing and very painful. Outfielders rarely wear one

I played INF and OF and always wore one at all times. You never know.

I mostly played 1B and SP and I always wore a cup, although I understand when anyone complains about it's lack of mobility, it's just not worth the rare chance of getting nailed in the nuts.

 

On another note, if it weren't for fantasy baseball or Stephen Strasburg, I don't think that anyone would watch Nationals games. This kid is as entertaining as he is hyped. I like how he puts enough torque in his delivery that he has to keep rebuttoning his jersey a few times an inning.
