10 days early but f*** it.

I'll be sitting on my couch yelling at Yankees fans in the game thread grimacing as I take sip after terrible sip of disgusting Talksox beer. I have a fridge full of the stuff, I have to drink it.

I'll probably be doing the same....but with good beer....CANADIAN beer

This beer doesn't suck because it's American. It sucks because I have no idea how to make beer.

Is it just me, or is Opening Day against your biggest rivals kind of a waste? That's the way it feels to me.

Did you at least follow the recipe?

OH MY GOD ITS GOM

And no way it makes it that much better.

I'm so ready for the Guardians to beat the red sox everytime and for the red sox to beat the yankees on opening day.

The Guardians can barely beat the Royals. Red Sox>>>>>>Royals. Make your deductions.

Why though? You're saying you'd feel exactly the same way if we were opening against the Guardians?

I see what Gom is saying. Opening Day in itself is an event. Any typical Red Sox/Yankees game is an event. So why waste an event by having a matchup that would be an event anyway? If you get what I'm saying...

I agree with Gom. It's not like we need to get psyched up for opening day, or Sox/Yankees, so by combining the two there isn't any more excitement created. In other words, I'd be just as excited for Opening day vs. the Guardians as I would be at Opening day vs. the Yankees.

It is nice that it is Yankees-Red Sox to start, but I think it takes a bit of the meaning out of it starting day 1. I would absolutely love it if Cashman, Theo and Selig had an agreement to not play until May when all the kinks are out.

"A logical post is logical."

I agree.

Although it was sweet that it was the Yankees in town for Opening Day in 2005 :)

Yes sir. I have the image of Mo laughing and tipping his cap etched in my mind's eye.

I really don't like the idea of playing the Yankees real early in the season, espically on Opening Day. It kinda takes out the importance of the series when you play them in early April. Opening Day is a specticle in its own right, so its speical. It would be just as exciting even if the Sox weren't playing the Yankees. It seems like there is no need for it.

I think it would be cool if it was actually opening DAY against the Yankees, as in playing them during the afternoon at Fenway instead of the Sunday night game.

Regardless, I'm counting the days.

What I mean is that Opening Day is a festive day. It's a day game [usually], the unofficial start of spring...I'm not ready to be feeling that rivalry. There is enough magic that I don't mind playing the Guardians...but come August, I wanna play the Sox...not the Guardians. Get my drift?

You're just shaking in your little Gom boots at the prospect of facing the Red Sox and starting the season 0-3, that's all.
